Alcatel has launched a new smartphone in US known as the Alcatel Idol 4S with windows 10 OS. Alcatel previously launched the Idol 4S with Android Marshmallow back at Mobile World Congress this year.
The new Idol 4S Windows version is going to be available in US for only T-Mobile customers priced at $470 (Rs. 32,000).
The smartphone is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 Chipset clocked at 2.15 GHz. There is also 4 GB Ram to ensure that it works smoothly.
The smartphone comes with a 5.5 inch Full HD (1920*1080) pixels AMOLED display. The design for the smartphone does not look very impressive at it has large bezels on the top and bottom. While rest of the world is moving towards thinner bezels (Mi Mix), Alcatel is still making Windows phone with thick bezels.
The smartphone comes with golden metallic edges and the glass body.
The smartphone comes with a 21 MP rear camera with Auto-focus support and Dual LED Flash. There is also a decent 8 Mega pixel front camera, along with a dedicated flash to take brighter selfies in low light conditions.
The Alcatel Idol 4S comes with 64 GB of internal storage which can be further expanded to 128 GB using the micro-sd card support.
The Dual Sim Smartphone comes with 4G LTE support along with the support for conventional 3G and 2G network.
One of the reasons of larger bezels on the Alcatel Idol 4S is the Dual front firing speakers which offer rich sound experience.
The Idol 4S is a sleek smartphone with 6.99 mm thickness, similar to the iPhone 6S. It weighs 152 grams and is backed by a 3000 mAH capacity battery.
The smartphone also comes with support for VR and the powerful Snapdragon 820 is sufficient to run all the VR APPs and games.
The Windows 10 mobile are rare to come by and these days we rarely get any inquires about the Windows phone. In the world dominated by Android and Apple, I wonder if there is space for a Windows phone any more.
There are definitely some Windows Phone fans who would find value in the Idol 4S.
