Xiaomi, the Chinese smartphone company, is traditionally known as the smartphone maker, but the company has recently forayed into the IOT (internet of things) products section as well.
However, all of these commodities available only in the company’s homeland China. With that said, Xiaomi recently teased some crowdfunding projects, and one of them is now official.
Yes, Xiaomi announced a new pair of running shoes, namely, the 90 Minutes Ultra Smart and these shoes are placed under the Xiaomi’s new crowdfunding project, Xiaomi MiJia.
The 90 Minutes Ultra Smart shoes are powered by the Intel Curie chipset, which will be able to provide the fitness data in real time and can detect a variety of activities that includes walking, running, and climbing.
These pair of Smart shoes from Xiaomi are designed by Shanghai International Science & Technology Institute to fulfill the expectations of recognized athletes. The base of the shoes is manufactured from a foam-like material and features an air cushion as an antibacterial, removable insole.
Speaking about the Intel Curie SoC, it is a low-power chipset built on 32-bit Intel Quark SE SoC process and features the x86 architecture.
The chipset also has support for 6-axis gyro sensor and accelerometer and also comes with a battery charging unit. Interestingly, these Smart shoes are promised to deliver 60 days of battery life on a single charge, according to Xiaomi.
The Xiaomi 90 Minutes Ultra Smart shoes come in different color options for both men and women. For men, they come in surf blue and black, whereas for women, pink and black color options are available. Xiaomi also launched a special Blue edition of the shoes, which of course cost a little more.
And finally the pricing. The all new Xiaomi 90 Minutes Ultra Smart shoes cost 299 Yuan (approximately Rs. 2900), and the are expected to ship by April 15. As of now, Xiaomi did not reveal any plans on when these Smart shoes land in India. Xiaomi already have launched an ultra light weight water proof jacket and a carry luggage previously.
Xiaomi is known to launch a lot of new technologically advanced products from time to time. They recently tied up with the Filmstar Hrithik Roshan and launched a new health Band in the country called as the Xiaomi Mi Band HRX edition.
The company has previously collaborated with the famous french designer Phillep Stark and they launched the first ever true Bezel less smartphone the Xiaomi Mi Mix, which comes with a 91% screen to body ratio.
