Xiaomi, the Chinese company, is traditionally known as a mobile OEM. However, the company has recently forayed into the IOT (internet of things) products with the launch of some new gadgets.
Although, all of these gadgets are available only in the company’s homeland, China. Xiaomi recently teased some crowdfunding projects, and one of them is now official.
90 Minutes Ultra Smart Mi shoe Details
Yes, Xiaomi announced a new pair of running shoes, namely, the 90 Minutes UltraSmart. These shoes are part of the Xiaomi’s new crowdfunding project, Xiaomi MiJia.
Powering the 90 Minutes Ultra Smart shoes is the Intel Curie chipset, which is capable of providing the fitness data in real time, and even can detect a variety of activities including walking, running, and climbing.
The Smart shoes from Xiaomi are designed by Shanghai International Science & Technology Institute to fulfill the expectations of recognized athletes.
What’s Special, the base of the shoes uses a foam-like material and features an air cushion with an antibacterial, removable insole.
The Intel Curie SoC is a low-power chipset using the 32-bit Intel Quark SE SoC process and features the x86 architecture.
Moreover, the chipset has support for 6-axis gyro sensor and accelerometer and even comes with a battery charging unit. Interestingly, these Smart shoes promise to deliver 60 days of battery life on a single charge, according to Xiaomi.
Further, the 90 Minutes Ultra come in different color options for both men and women. For men, they are available in surf blue and black, whereas for women, in pink and black colors.
Also, Xiaomi has launched a special Blue edition of these shoes, which of course cost a little more.
Launch Date and Price
The new Mi shoes cost 299 Yuan (approximately Rs. 2900) and will start shipping starting 15 April 2017. As of now, Xiaomi has not revealed any plans on when these Smart shoes will land in India.
Furthermore, Xiaomi has launched an ultra light weight water proof jacket and carry luggage in China.
Also, the company is working on several other products that integrate smartphones with daily usage products. They recently tied up with the Filmstar Hrithik Roshan and launched a new health Band in India called the Xiaomi Mi Band HRX edition.
To recall, the company has previously collaborated with the famous french designer Phillep Stark and launched the first ever true Bezel less smartphone the Xiaomi Mi Mix, which comes with a 91% screen to body ratio.
