Xiaomi is gearing to launch a new mid range smartphone as per the recent reports. There are some image leaks about the upcoming device allegedly called as the Mi 5C. The Xiaomi Mi 5C is the successor to the last year’s Xiaomi Mi 4C. The Xiaomi Mi 5C is codenamed “MERI” and recently paid a visit to the Geek benchmark revealing some of the internal hardware.
Update: 28/Nov/2016 : The Xiaomi Mi 5C is expected to get launched on 6th December 2016 as per the recent reports. (Note the launch event is in China).
The smartphone price information was recently leaked and it is alleged to come with a price tag of $144 or CNY 999 (Rs. 10,000), as reported on weibo and by gsmarena.
The smartphone pricing is attractive as has been the case with most Xiaomi smartphones. The smartphone comes with a fingerprint scanner embedded in the home button.
The Mi 5C comes with metallic design and the rear camera is located at the top left corner with a Dual LED Flash. The design is similar to the iPhone 6s with near similar camera placement and form factor.
The Geekbench mark listing suggests that the smartphone will come with 3 GB Ram, and will have the Helio P20 Octa-Core processor clocked at 2.2 GHz. Additionally, The Mi 5C comes with Mali-T860 MP4 GPU, which is excellent for gaming.
The smartphone is likely to come with a 5.5 inch display and will have Full HD resolution (1920*1080) pixels, along with 403 PPI. It is also going to sport 2.5 D glass cover to improve esthetics.
As per the leaked reports the Mi 5C runs on Android Marshmallow 6.0 along with the MIUI 8.0. There is going to be 32 GB of internal storage and Dual sim support. The smartphone is expected to come with a 12 MP rear camera and a 8 MP front selfie camera.
The Xiaomi Mi 5C have 4G LTE as well as VOLTE connectivity along with the other native connectivity options. The Mi 5C is also supports NFC.
The metallic smartphone looks sleek and can come with 3300 mAH battery capacity. It is likely to come in black , Gold and rose gold color variants. As per the rumor mill the device is going to launch in the Chinese market in Mid-December. A recent report claims that the announcement for this new device is going to happen at an event in China on 30 November.
