Xiaomi has launched a new variant of the Xiaomi Mi Max in India called as “Mi Max Prime”. Xiaomi launched the Mi Max smartphone in India on 30th June 2016 and at that point shared the details of this variant; but didn’t launched it.
The Xiaomi Mi Max and Mi Max Prime are similar in appearance and design but differentiate in terms of processor, ram and storage.
The Xiaomi Mi Max Prime comes with an enormous display with 6.44 inch screen size, that comes with Full HD display (1920*1080) pixels and 342 PPI. The smartphone comes with metallic build and has a chrome plated edge which makes it look more gorgeous.
The smartphone has a very large display size which makes it difficult to manage with a single hand but definitely a cool smartphones to watch movies and play graphic intensive games.
The smartphone weighs 203 grams and has a thickness of 7.5 mm. It is sleek looking owing to low thickness and large display. There is a fingerprint scanner at the back of the device for quick unlocking.
The Mi Max Prime is powered by the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 652 processor clocked at 1.8 GHz. The smartphone is powered by the Adreno 510 GPU clocked at 600 MHz, quite capable of playing all modern games like Asphalt 8, Modern Combat 5 and Nova 3 without breaking a sweat.
The smartphone comes with 4 GB of Ram and has 128 GB of internal storage which is one of the highest storage space available in any smartphone below Rs. 20,000 in India. The smartphone comes with additional support for Micro-Sd card which can expand the storage by 128 GB.
On the other hand the Xiaomi Mi Max comes with Qualcomm Snapdragon 650 with 3 GB of Ram and 32 GB of storage. Both the processors offer identical performance not much of an upgrade.

The Xiaomi Max Prime comes with a 16 Mega pixel rear camera which has LED Flash support. The rear camera comes with PDAF , 5 element lens , f/2.0 aperture and low light enhancement mode. The camera can record 1080P video and is also capable of recording 120 FPS slow motion video.
There is a 5 Megapixel front camera which comes with 85 degree wide angle lens to click selfies. The smartphone comes with Dual Sim support and the second sim slot is a hybrid slot, you can either use a memory card or the second card with the Mi Max Prime.
The Mi Max Prime comes with 4G LTE and VOLTE support to ensure HD voice calling and can be used with Reliance JIO , Airtel, Vodafone and Idea sim card.

Overall the smartphone offers great performance with Snapdragon 652 and 4 GB RAM and has enormous 128 GB storage. It is big and bulky and the smartphone can be difficult to use with single hand but on the positive note is excellent to read text , play games and watch movies on the large screen, large battery is also an added advantage.
