Stories about this year’s most anticipated Flagship phone Mi5 are stirring up even more with recent news stating a windows ten variant is on the cards.
There are many reports that Xiaomi can launch a second Xiaomi Mi5 running on the latest Windows 10 OS along with Android Marshmallow based Xiaomi Mi 5.
The launch date for the Mi5 is confirmed as February 24, and as the launch event is getting closer, there is more exciting news unfolding.
If you were a windows phone user bit envious about Android’s smartphones with powerful hardware, then this is really good news for you.
Xiaomi’s Mi5 could run a windows 10 Os without any change in Hardware configuration, carrying Snapdragon 820, 4 GB RAM and 2K display, the most potent windows phone ever made.
It is going to be much faster than the Lumia 950 and 950 XL which use the Qualcomm current flagship processor Snapdragon 810. Another reason for the Lumia 950 and 950 XL failure to attract buyers is Microsoft’s snobbish pricing strategy which makes the devices expensive.
They are not Samsung or Apple which can sell smartphones at a premium price; even Samsung finds it hard now with the presence of quality smartphones at an affordable rate like OnePlus 2 and Nexus devices.
While Windows 10 OS is not bad, but what Microsoft needs is more affordable pricing and a strategy to first expand the base and later think of pricing. If Xiaomi Launches the Mi5 Windows 10 variant, it will sell much more than the high priced Lumia series.
We can even expect features like Cortana (Windows phone voice assistant), Continuum ( converts the phone into a mini desktop), these two features were available to Lumia high-end devices only.
The claims have more base rather than simply being a rumor, Microsoft had partnered with Xiaomi for its Windows 10 preview on Mi4. This was an initial testing phase for future cooperation and expansion.
Also, the company’s Tablet MiPad runs Windows 10 also shows stronger cooperation and ecosystem integration between the two companies. Xiaomi knows much better how to sell stuff and how to market it much better than what Microsoft has been doing in developing countries like India.
We have already seen that Microsoft has patented for a Multi boot loader for a smartphone, so is a dual boot smartphone, nothing merrier than this.
With Xiaomi releasing a Windows 10 Mi5 version, it becomes an opportunity for Windows mobile OS to gain market, more particularly if it comes as a dual-boot device.
If the rumor becomes true, then Xiaomi’s Mi5 will become the most affordable high-end windows smartphone.
