Xiaomi has unveiled the new smartphone in the Chinese market known as the Redmi 3 Pro today. The smartphone will go on sale on 6th April in China through the flash sale system. The smartphone comes with improved specs compared to the Redmi 3 which was launched last year in China.
To make things a bit clear the Redmi 3 was launched last year in China but did not get launched in the Indian market. Instead, Xiaomi launched the Redmi Note Prime in the Indian market last year.
The Xiaomi Redmi 3 Pro comes with Octa-Core Snapdragon 616 Processor clocked at 1.5 GHz for the faster Cores while the4 slower cores are clocked at 1.3 GHz. The smartphone also comes with 3 GB of Ram while the earlier Redmi 3 had 2 GB of Ram.
The smartphone is priced at CNY 799 at China and equivalent price in India can be around Rs. 9,100. Xiaomi Redmi 3 Pro “or Higher Variant” as described in China comes with 32 GB of Storage space instead of the 16 GB storage available on the Redmi 3.
The smartphone has a 5.0-inch display and comes with HD (1280*720) pixels resolution with 293 PPI. The Xiaomi Redmi 3 Pro comes with the similar camera as was there in the Redmi 3; the rear camera is a 13 Mega Pixel Shooter while the front camera is a 5 MP shooter.
The smartphone has a fingerprint scanner at the back of the device.
India Launch Unlikely for Redmi 3 Pro.
The Redmi 3 Pro offers 4G LTE connectivity along with support for native 3G /2G /WIFI. It is a dual sim smartphone the second sim slot is hybrid which can be used as memory card slot to carry up to 128 GB of data.
The Xiaomi Redmi 3 Pro comes with an incredible battery capacity of 4100 mAH and yet weighs only 145 grams.
Xiaomi has been doing great regarding managing the internal space and design of the device, providing users with excellent battery backup and not making the device heavy as well as thick at the same time.
The smartphone has a thickness of 8.45 mm which is not too much considering the battery size of the Redmi 3 Pro.
Xiaomi has yet not commented on the availability of the smartphone outside of China.
Xiaomi in India currently have the Redmi Note 3 priced at Rs. 9999 and 11,999 for the 16 GB and 32 GB variant may not launch the Redmi Note 3 Pro in India as they did with the Redmi Note 3.
Xiaomi also has the Mi4i and Xiaomi Redmi Note Prime smartphone in the price range of 8K to 10K and will clutter their portfolio with another launch.
Either way Xiaomi is yet struggling to provide the already launched Redmi Note 3 in India, and there is acute shortage of 32 GB/ 3GB Ram version.
Earlier Leaks Redmi 3
Xiaomi is planning to upgrade the Redmi 2 prime with all new Redmi 3. Redmi 3 is different from the Redmi Note 3 which got launched in India on 09 March 2016.
This is a budget smartphone where the expected price is around Rs. 7000 to Rs. 8500 though it is going to get launched in Chinese market first and then will make way for India.
Right now Xiaomi has the Redmi Note Prime and the Redmi 2 Prime which are priced at Rs. 6999 and Rs. 8,499. Xiaomi plans to bring in some high-end features in the budget smartphone market with the addition of fingerprint scanner to the upcoming Redmi 3.
The smartphone comes with a poly-plastic textured back and has a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner.
China already has a Redmi 3 model, but that comes without a fingerprint scanner. The new Redmi 3 was spotted on Tenaa rating website which is usually before the smartphone get released in the Chinese market.
The upcoming Redmi 3 comes with a 5-inch display and has an HD resolution with 1280*720 pixels display, at 293 Ppi. The smartphone is powered by the new Qualcomm processor the Snapdragon 616 which is clocked at 1.5 GHz.
The key highlight feature of the smartphone is 4100 mAh battery capacity which is a large upgrade to existing Redmi 2 Prime.
The smartphone comes with 2 GB ram, and it has got 16 GB of internal storage which can be expanded to 128 GB.
The Redmi 3 comes with dual sim support and has 4G LTE support along with the native 3G and 2G. The smartphone comes with 13 Megapixel rear camera, up from 8 MP on the Redmi 2 Prime.
The front selfie camera is also improved with a 5-megapixel camera to click great images. The smartphone has an expected thickness of 8.5 mm considering the large battery size it is too good an integration by Xiaomi. The weight is also not too much the Redmi 3 weighs 146 grams.
We will be eagerly waiting for this smartphone to launch in India as it offers best specs in this price range. The only cheaper option right now with a fingerprint scanner and similar specs under 7k is the Coolpad Note 3 Lite. Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 is selling like hot cakes in the Indian market, in the first sale, it went out of stock in just a blink of an eye.
Early Leaks – Mi Redmi 3: Revealed By Xiaomi in a Facebook Post
Xiaomi has been unveiled ahead of the scheduled 12 Jan 2016 launch date in a Facebook post by Mi official brand page. Mi Redmi 3 is a different smartphone than the Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 which got released in November 2015.
Ahead of the launch smartphone price is revealed and it will be available in China for 699 Yuan ($107) or Rs. 7100 in terms of Indian currency. The smartphone is priced low and offers great specs along with a metallic body.
The smartphone is meant to target the starting range segment of Xiaomi fans which got overwhelming from the Xiaomi Redmi Note 3.
The Smartphones features a Full-metal body with gorgeous diamond pattern back cover. The 5.0 inches screen size and HD (1280*720) resolution. This is the first time we are seeing Xiaomi moving away from the poly-plastic build.
The Mi Redmi 3 comes with 2 GB ram essential for multi-tasking.
The smartphone is powered by the 1.5 GHz Octa-Core Qualcomm Snapdragon 616 processor.
The rear camera is 13 Megapixels, and the front camera is 5 Megapixels shooter for taking selfies. The current Redmi 2 which is also available in India has got 8 MP and 2 MP camera.
The device comes with 16 GB of internal storage space, which can be further expanded to 128 GB using a micro-sd card.
It is however not clear whether the smartphone runs on Android Lollipop or Android Marshmallow OS along with MIUI 7.0.
Xiaomi revealed that the smartphone has a massive 4100 mAH battery capacity. The surprising part is that the 5-inch screen device can fit the large capacity battery easily and still weighs just 144 grams.
The smartphone has the following dimensions (139*69*8.5 mm), despite having the large battery capacity the device has an optimal thickness of 8.5 mm.
The Xiaomi Redmi 3 comes with 4G LTE support along with the native 3G and 2G support. It does have support for WIFI and Bluetooth.
The smartphone will get launched in 3 different color variants Grey, Silver, and Gold.
Xiaomi recently launched the Xiaomi Redmi Note Prime in India, which they made especially for the Indian market.
Xiaomi has also launched the Redmi Note 3 in China with great specs and features though, India is yet to get any of these latest Xiaomi smartphones.
