Xioami Redmi 4 Launch – An affordable Performance Mobile
Xiaomi has launched the new budget smartphone Redmi 4 in India on 16 May 2017, at an event in New Delhi. The company was teasing about the new Redmi device for some days and it was mostly known that they are going to launch the Redmi 4 in India.
The Indian version of Xiaomi Redmi 4 is same as the Xiaomi Redmi 4X, launched in China, back in February 2017. Notably, the Redmi 4X offers same specs and design in China, as the Redmi 4 in India.
The Redmi 4 is actually the successor to the Xiaomi Redmi 3S and 3S Prime in India, which Xiaomi may discontinue in some days. The new mobile launched in India in 3 different variants, starting at Rs 6,999.
The Xiaomi Redmi 4 Variants launched in India:
- Redmi 4 – 2 GB RAM and 16 GB Storage Price Rs 6,999
- Xiaomi Redmi 4 – 3 GB RAM and 32 GB Storage Price Rs 8,999
- Redmi 4 – 4 GB RAM and 64 GB Storage Price Rs 10,999
It raises the bar yet again for the budget mobiles and is even better than the Xiaomi Redmi 3S, that came with class leading specs and really affordable price.
Also, it comes in Matte Black, Gold colors in India. Notably, it will go on sale on 23 may 2017 on Amazon and Mi.com at 12:00 PM, Indian time. Also, you can buy it from the Mi Home Store in Bangalore on 20th May at 9.00 am. But you will have to pre-book the device on Mi.com and can take the delivery at the Mi Home Store. The pre-booking amount is Rs. 1000.
Specs and Hardware Details
Coming to the specs and features of the Xiaomi Redmi 4. Powering the phone is the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 435 processor with a max clock speed of 1.4 GHz. It even has the Adreno 505 GPU for taking care of all gaming needs.
The metallic phone has a rear camera comes with a fingerprint scanner at the back. Also, it offers a 5 Inch Display and has HD resolution with 283 PPi.
Additionally, there is 2.5D curved glass on top of the display to enhance the looks. It runs on the Android Marshmallow 6.0 along with the MIUI 8.0. However, Xiaomi is offering Android Nougat early preview on the device.
For imaging, we have a 13 Megapixel rear camera (f/2.0 aperture) with LED Flash and Autofocus. Also, there is a 5 Megapixel front facing camera (f/2.2 aperture) to click selfies. Further, it boasts of some nifty features like App Lock, Dual Apps, second space and an infrared sensor.
You can effortlessly use it all day as it has a large 4100 mAH battery, similar to its predecessor Redmi 3S prime.
Moreover, the Dual sim mobile has support for 4G LTE as well as VOLTE to work with Reliance JIO and other mobile operators in India.
Lastly, it has 8.6 mm of thickness and weighs 150 grams that is not too much considering the battery size.
Overall the Redmi 4 is a delightful addition to the Xiaomi’s Indian portfolio and is a slightly better option in comparison to the Redmi 3s and 3S prime.
