Xiaomi has made a lot of progress in the last 2 years more than many companies can dream off. I still remember it was an epic launch in India when the first Xiaomi Mi3 flash sales happened on Flipkart and for Rs. 13,000, it was a killer deal.
Xiaomi started the flash sales with Flipkart in India and changed the way mobiles were sold in the country. Today they unveiled some more iconic products – Xiaomi Redmi Pro and the Mi Notebook Air.
While the Redmi Pro brings the best features to an affordable mobile while the Mi Notebook Air is a big step forward for the company. It opens up new venues for Xiaomi into the PC market. Can we have a Xiaomi Gaming PC, I bet they may sell it someday, more affordable than ever before.
The Redmi Pro as the name suggests is a Pro model with great specs and affordable price starting at Yuan 1499/$225 or Rs. 15,000.
The smartphone’s highlight is the Dual back camera with which Xiaomi plans to quieten the critics for sub-optimal camera used in the models like the Xiaomi Redmi Note 3. Despite that Redmi Note 3 has been a runaway success in the Indian market with over 1 million devices sold since it’s launch in India.
The Redmi Pro comes in 3 Variants :
- Redmi Pro 32 GB Storage , 3 GB RAM and Helio X 20 Processor. (Price Rs. 15,000)
- Redmi Pro 64 GB Storage , 3 GB RAM and Helio X 25 Processor. (Price Rs. 17,000)
- Redmi Pro 128 GB Storage , 4 GB RAM and Helio X 25 Processor. (Price Rs. 20,000)
The CNC cut Redmi Pro brings in the best design with Immaculate metallic uni-body finish. The front side of the smartphone hosts a 5 Mega Pixel camera to click selfies and there is an oblong shape home button which doubles up as a fingerprint scanner. The smartphone is available in two colors – Gold and Silver.
At the back of the device we have two circular camera modules separated by a LED flash placed in between them. Quite a unique flash placement not seen on any other smartphone.
The Dual Camera module at the back has a 13 Mega pixel Sony IMX258 sensor camera and there is a smaller 5 MP lens made by Samsung to create the bokeh effect like a DSLR. The rear camera also offers the ability to adjust the focus post clicking the image.
The Redmi Pro comes with a large 4050 mAH capacity battery like the recently launched Xiaomi Redmi 3S. The smartphone comes with USB Type C charger and also has fast charging support.
The Redmi Pro comes with 5.5 inch Full HD display and an OLED display with 401 PPi. The display has a 2.5 D curve glass mounted on the top of the display. Having an OLED display in a budget smartphone is a big deal and Xiaomi has once again raised the bar for the budget smartphones with the Redmi Pro.
The Xiaomi Redmi Pro comes with Android Marshmallow 6.0 OS along with the Xiaomi MIUI 8.0 OS which ensures faster and smoother UI as well as better battery life. The smartphone comes with Dual Sim Support and the second sim slot can be used as a micro-sd card slot. There is 4G LTE support and the Redmi Pro also supports VOLTE.
Xiaomi has been doing great and with the new Redmi Pro it is bound to do well. Xiaomi sells 1.21 smartphone per second over the course of last 3 years.
The Xiaomi Redmi Pro will be available in China and is most likely to launch in the Indian market.
