One of the best smartphone Under Rs. 10000 for May 2014
The Specifications for the Phone are provided below:
Design & Feel:
Xolo Q800X Edition looks more rectangular with curved edges and has an X mark on the back side of the phone and finish of the phone is not very glossy as we saw on Nokia 525. The phone is good to handle and fits well in hand.
Build quality does not look premium but has an excellent finish to complement the phone. The back cover also doesn’t seem made from cheap plastic and have X symbol of Xolo imprinted on the same. Volume rocker button and power button are located on the side of the device. With USB and microphone jack situated at the top and bottom is clear.
The 4.5-inch screen has a good qHD screen with a resolution of 540×960. The screen has an IPS display with a pixel density of 245ppi. There are approx. 35% more pixels on XOLO vs. Lumia 525, though, the pixel density on both the screen is identical. The large screen is bright when viewing movies or videos, but the text is not as sharper as it can be with phones with minimum 300 PPI screens. Overall, color reproduction and the display is satisfactory.
Xolo Q800 X edition uses MT6589 CPU CA7 1.2 GHz, Quad Core with 1 GB RAM & graphics Power VR SGX544. Games are playable and don’t lag much we tested asphalt 7 and 8, real racing 3, subway surfer, temple run 1 and 2 and the games performed ok with very little lag. The performance is smooth for the device.
Nenamark 2 gives 55.5 FPS which is good considering the price Quadrant score is around 4700, very good score of 14021 in Antutu which is very high considering the mobile
Touch responsiveness is outstanding on the device, and we don’t find any lag using it. The 1GB ram is quite optimized to handle apps and browsing.
The quality of the camera is good, and it is 8 megapixel with autofocus function which makes it click steady day shots. The closeup shots are perfect and in our assessment are comparable to the SamsungS2 camera. Night shots are not very impressive withQ800X. The front camera is there if you wish to use the phone for Video chat on skype but1MP camera offer mediocre quality
The battery size is perfect for the phone of this specification 2100 Mah the phone effortlessly sails through the day and with at least 4-5 hours of screen time and 3G usage. We felt some heating while charging the battery and also it looks a bit bulky. The battery has a functional capacity and is a decisive point to have a battery above 2000 mah to help run through the day without charging.
The overall specs and quality are in line with its price. What is great is phones build quality, Ram, and CPU & GPU performance and sound quality of the device is good. The cons are the poor quality earphones; software is well optimized but no additional software which comes bundled with Samsung or HTC phones.
The reliability of the device and after service of the phone is also getting established. The screen is good, and we found the touch response even better on the device. Xolo may be a well-established brand in India now, but we see the brand value as a limiting factor with Xolo Vs. Nokia or Samsung. Overall the phone is a good value for money option.
