When it comes to editing, one needs more space for storage. We use 2 TB of HDD here in this PC build. It is meant to store the completed projects and store media that you have used in the earlier projects. We will use SSDs for everything else.

7) Processor – AMD Ryzen 5 5600X Desktop Processor (6 Cores)

AMD processors are best suited when it comes to video editing. It clocks at 3.7 GHz and can be overclocked up to 4.6 GHz. It is an excellent video editing processor.
AMD Ryzen 5 5600X desktop processor is compatible with 500 series motherboards with the AM4 socket. It does support a dual memory channel.
AMD Ryzen 5 is the performance beast and offers excellent Single-Core performance and even the multi-core performance is the best in class. Notably, it is not an 8 or 12 Core processor which will be used in the more expensive builds later.

The Nvidia GTX 1650 is the most basic graphics card that I will recommend; you can look at more options in the 15k to 25k price range. – 5 Best Graphics Cards Under Rs 20000 in India. Nvidia has also launched the GTX 1630 recently but it is too slow and I won’t recommend it.
Motherboard – Gigabyte B550M DS3H – Price Rs. 8,990
The Gigabyte B550M comes with an AM4 socket that is compatible with the AMD Ryzen 5600X and other processors. The motherboard supports PCIe 3.0 and 4.0 slots and can easily work under heavy loads.
In addition, it is available at an affordable rate of INR 9,199. The motherboard supports up to 128 GB of DDR4 Ram with clock speeds up to 4733 MHz. Also, comes with the Realtek 7.1 channel audio codec for a good audio experience. The motherboard has 5+3 Phases Pure Digital VRM and also comes with the Gigabyte GBE gaming LAN support.

Our first build uses affordable parts and is more suitable for a 1080P video editing setup. It can edit 4K videos with ease but if you want to edit very complex timelines with lots of titles and transitions I will suggest you go with Ryzen 5900X or the Intel Core i7 build to edit 4K videos.
2). AMD Ryzen 5900X and RTX 3060 – Video Editing PC Build
Next, we are having another build for AMD 5900X processor that comes with 12 Cores and 24 threads. You can roughly expect double the performance in comparison to the Ryzen 5600X.
Processor – AMD Ryzen 9 5900X Desktop Processor
Price Rs. 39,390
AMD Ryzen 9 5900X is one of the best video editing processors offered by the red team. It has a massive 12 cores and 24 threads architecture.
And the more the cores, the better the performance when considering video editing tasks. It can boost up to 4.8 GHz frequency. Ryzen 5900X is designed to give the fastest performance possible.
The only downside is that the chip does not come with the integrated graphics card or the heatsink fan; you need to add both of them separately to get the best out of your rig.

Nvidia RTX 3060 – Graphics Card
The Nvidia RTX 3060 offers 12 GB of GDDR6 video memory and comes with a 192-bit memory bus width. The GPU has 3584 Cuda Cores which is significantly more than the GTX 1650.
The triple cooler Gigabyte RTX 3060 is available for Rs. 55,000 currently and offers great performance for both gaming and video editing.
The RTX 3060 also comes with tensor cores and has support for Ray tracing which also improves your editing, design, and gaming experience.
Graphics card prices are declining and you may be able to buy an RTX 3070 also for this build.

The above-shared PC build is suitable for editing 4K videos and you can use it for complex timelines and longer projects. Also, I am using the RTX 3060, you can always upgrade the graphics card to RTX 3070 or RTX 3080. Also, 16 GB DDR4 Ram may not be sufficient for 4K editing when using Adobe After effects or even Premiere Pro, you can buy 32 GB Ram. You can opt for 2*16 GB Sticks and can even upgrade to 64 GB Ram at a later stage if you want.
So, we are done with the two AMD Editing builds and will now move to Intel 12th Gen Desktop builds. AMD has recently released the Ryzen 5800X3d processor which is excellent for gaming but comes with 8 Cores Vs the 12 Cores on the Ryzen 5900X. For most video editing software, the 5900X will offer better performance than the Ryzen 5800X3D. For gamers, it makes sense to opt for the AMD Ryzen 5800X3D.
3). Intel Core i7 – 12700K, Nvidia GTX 1660 Super – Editing PC Build
In this build, we are going to use an Intel 12th Gen Desktop Processor and a compatible motherboard, most of the other parts like monitor and PSU, and Ram will be the same as the AMD build. We will use the Intel 12th Gen Core i7 and the Core i5 Intel processors. For the Graphics cards – you can use either the GTX 1660 Super or can upgrade to RTX 3060 or the RTX 3070.
Let’s start with the processor.
Processor – Intel 12th Gen Core i7 – 12700K Desktop Processor
Price Rs. 42,700
Intel has recently launched the 12th Gen desktop series processors, and undoubtedly the hybrid architecture offered the best of the best. This chipset is a beast for editing workflow.
The process has 12 cores (8 Performance + 4 Efficient) and 20 threads. Also, it has 25 MB L3 and 12 MB L2 cache memory. Interestingly, the Core i7 has a great overclocking utility.
Moreover, when comparing the 12700K, the Alder Lake chipset is 7.5% faster than that of the Ryzen 9 5900X desktop processor. Also, the CPU supports the latest DDR5 RAM with up to 4800 MHz frequency.
