Key Specs and Details:

Display And Design

The Poco M2 Pro comes with a massive 6.67-inch display and has a Full HD+ (2400*1080) pixels display with a 20:9 aspect ratio, 395 PPI, and Gorilla Glass 5 for protection.

The display comes with a Contrast Ratio: of 1500:1, NTSC ratio: of 84%, and a maximum brightness of 480 nits, which is good.

The overall design looks good with a full view display and a centrally aligned selfie camera. Also, the rear side has a squarish camera assembly (a little camera bump) that makes the phone wobble when using it on a flat surface.

Performance

Powering the mobile is the Qualcomm Snapdragon 720G processor that comes with Adreno 618 GPU. The 720G is made from an 8 Nm manufacturing process and has a 2.3 GHz clock speed. It is energy-efficient, eats less battery, and is good to play games like PUBG and COD mobile.

Aforementioned, we get 4/6 GB DDR4 Ram and 64/128 GB storage. The phone has got a nano-SIM + nano-SIM + microSD card slot and comes with Dual 4G capability (it doesn’t support 5G).

It runs on the Android 10 OS with a custom skin from POCO and comes with some bloatware Apps out of the box.

Cameras

There are plenty of cameras on the Poco M2. At the back, there is a 48 MP primary camera with an f/1.8 aperture lens and a 1.6-micron sensor. Other cameras are – 5MP (Macro): with ƒ/2.4 aperture, 8MP (Ultra-wide) with ƒ/2.2, and lastly a depth sensor with 2MP depth.

The camera is great based on the early reviews but the Portrait Mode is bad on the POCO M2. You can record 4K 30 FPS videos on the phone.

At the front, there is a 16 MP selfie camera that comes with AI portrait mode and can click decent selfies.

Battery And Other Features

The battery is massive on the POCO M2 Pro – 5000 mAH. The cherry on the cake is the 33 Watts Fast Charger that you get in the box.

For perspective, Apple is planning to not provide any charger in the box next year. Moreover, haven’t seen any company offer this kind of charger in the sub 15k price segment.

There is a USB Type C port for charging and the phone has got a 3.5 mm headphone jack for music.

Thoughts And Buying Advice

Overall, it is a superb phone for the price, I still love the original POCO F1. A few quirks are the poor portrait mode, some bloatware, and wobbly design.

Nevertheless, the Poco M2 is a rebranded Mi Note 9 Pro that comes with the same processor, same design, same cameras, display, and battery size. The difference is in charging speed 33 Watts Vs. 18 Watts and the POCO OS Vs the MIUI 11.

There is actually no need for so many phones from the same brand with little to no differentiation.

Now you will question me – Oppo, Vivo, and Realme have the same parent company and launch similar phones, and Kanuj you never question them?

I do, my friend.

Anyways, I like the Poco M2 and if you are from the anti-china gang then you can leave it and move over to the Korean or Made in India side.

Read Below about the Poco X2 which is very similar to the Poco M2 with few upgrades.
