Lenovo Legion 5i, 5, 7, 7i – Everything You Need to Know

Lenovo has recently refreshed the Legion Laptops with new Legion 7, 7i, and the Legion 5 and 5i, based on Intel 10th Gen, H series processors. These are the successors to the top-selling Legion Y540, Y740.

Back in 2017, Lenovo introduced the Legion family and I loved their Legion Y720. The leading brand has done this to distinguish its gaming system from the main IdeaPad line. Prior to the launch of Legion, Lenovo’s gaming machines stayed under the IdeaPad line labeled as “IdeaPadY” models. Legion has now emerged as all gaming and includes both laptops and pre-built desktops.

Lenovo Legion Naming Convention Explained

If the laptop model has both AMD and Intel options, then the laptop may end with an “i” to indicate an Intel CPU whereas if there is nothing indicated it has an AMD CPU. For example, the new Legion 5 comes with an AMD processor whereas the Legion 5i has an Intel Processor.

Lenovo’s this year’s, Legion Line-up –

  1. Legion 5 – AMD Ryzen Processor
  2. Legion 5i – Intel 10th Gen processor.
  3. Legion 7i – Intel 10th Gen Processor.
  4. Legion 7 – AMD Processor (Yet to be launched)

Lenovo Legion Coldfront 2.0 & Dual Burn

To improve performance and get the most out of the legion series of laptops the company has introduced the next-generation thermal efficiencies of the Lenovo Legion Coldfront 2.0. The new cooling solution offers better airflow, lower system temperatures to keep the machine cool, quiet, and slim.

There is a new feature called Dual Burn support, which pushes the CPU and GPU to the limit without the need for thermal throttling.

Let us take a look at some of the latest Lenovo Legion laptops that made their debut this year:

Lenovo Legion 7i

Lenovo has launched Legion 7i in a bid to replace last year’s premium gaming laptop – Legion Y740. When it comes to size, the high-end Legion 7i can be described as a 15.6-inch laptop.
