Lenovo has recently refreshed the Legion Laptops with new Legion 7, 7i, and the Legion 5 and 5i, based on Intel 10th Gen, H series processors, and AMD Ryzen 4000.

 

Lenovo Legion Naming Convention Explained

If the laptop model has both AMD and Intel options, then the laptop may end with an “i” to indicate an Intel CPU whereas if there is nothing indicated it has an AMD CPU. For example, the new Legion 5 comes with an AMD processor whereas the Legion 5i has an Intel Processor.

Lenovo Legion 5 launches in India With Ryzen 4600H :

Lenovo has finally launched the Legion 5 with the latest AMD processor in India. It was long due as the company has previously launched the Intel 10th Gen based Legion in the country. 

The device gets equipped with the latest generation AMD Ryzen 4000 series mobile processor. The firm claims to offer a battery life of about eight hours when the Hybrid Mode (battery saving mode) is ON.

There are very less devices that come equipped with AMD’s high-end processor, meant for gaming in India. The new Legion is a welcome addition to the portfolio of Ryzen gaming laptops in the country.

The gaming notebook arrives with a 15.6 inches IPS display and has a fast 120 Hz refresh rate. It runs on Windows 10 Home operating system.

The AMD Ryzen 5 4600H processor has six cores and clocked at 3.0 GHz with a maximum turbo boost up to 4.00 GHz. The laptop comes with the NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1650 Ti discrete graphics card with 4GB VRAM.

The Laptop comes with 8 GB of DDR4 Ram with 3200 Mhz speed and you can expand the ram if you wish. 

The laptop has 256 GB SSD and 1TB HDD on board.

The thin and light device weighs 2.3 kg with 363 * 259 * 24 mm dimension. It comes furnished with Lenovo Legion TrueStrike backlit keyboard. For cooling, the Colffront 2.0 appended for thermal vitality. It has a built-in HD webcam with a privacy shutter. The device comprises dual 2W Harman Kardon speakers and has Dolby Atmos headphone support.

A feature called Rapid Charge Pro supports fast charging. The Lenovo Q-Control 3.0 dominates the system voltage and fan speed.

The starting price for the Lenovo legion 5 gaming laptop in India is INR 75,990 and is available in Phantom Black shade only. It will go on sale on official Lenovo.com and will be accessible soon from other online platforms.

Lenovo may also bring more powerful variants with Ryzen 7 4800H and better graphics card in the future.

The Lenovo Legion 5i is available on Amazon India for a starting price of Rs. 84,999.

Considering the price it is a great option for Video editors or Creative professionals. Also, you can play most titles at 1080P using the GTX 1650 but it is no match for the higher variants with 1660Ti or 2060 MaxQ when it comes to gaming. But it if you have mixed usage of gaming and work.

Also, Lenovo has launched another variant with the GTX 1650 Ti and 16 GB of DDR4 Ram for a price tag of Rs. 99,990.

Lenovo Legion 5 with AMD Ryzen 4600H and GTX 1650 Ti is a better option for most people in comparison to the Legion 5i with Intel i7 and Nvidia GTX 1650.

Lenovo has launched the Legion 7i in a bid to replace last year’s premium gaming laptop – Legion Y740. When it comes to size, the high-end Legion 7i can be described as a 15.6-inch laptop.

The medium-range Legion 5/5i will become available in 15.6 inch and 17.3-inch models whereas the Legion 7i is available in 15.6-inch size.

It is important to note that Legion 7/7i has the Q-Control 3.0 software to overclock and under volt. Undervolt can significantly enhance CPU performance on some laptops.

The Legion 7i starts with the base Intel Core i5-10300H Processor with 4 Cores and 8 threads, along with 8 GB of ram and Nvidia GTX 1660Ti (6GB VRAM). The top model comes with the 8 Core Intel Core i7-10875H and the RTX 2080 MaxQ model along with a better display and 16 gigs of ram.

You need to shell out USD 1429 to buy the Legion 7i base model.

The Lenovo Legion 5 or the 5i have an underpowered graphics card whereas the Lenovo Legion 7i may seem expensive to some buyers looking for a bargain deal. The Lenovo Legion 5Pi bridges the gap and comes at a buyable price with a fast graphics card.

The Lenovo Legion is an excellent series and what we have experienced in the past iterations has raised our hopes from the new.

Also, the new Intel 10th Gen processors are fast and good for gaming, the addition of new cooling tech will also help improve the frame rates and sustained performance.
