Nvidia GTX 1050 Price Rs 10000 Launch in India (Specs)

Update 25th May 2018 – Nvidia has launched a new GTX 1050 With 3 GB VRAM. Originally the Nvidia GTX 1050 was launched in October 2016 with 2 GB VRAM.

New Nvidia GTX 1050 (3 GB VRAM Details)

The new Nvidia GTX 1050 with 3 GB VRAM comes with an improvement in Specs and performance in comparison to the earlier GTX 1050. Firstly, it has 3 GB GDDR5 VRAM instead of 2 GB GDDR5 VRAM on the older GTX 1050.

Secondly, it comes with a higher base clock speed of 1392 Vs 1354 on the 2 GB variant, the boost clock speed is also bumped up from 1455 to 1518. Importantly, the Cuda Cores are also increased from 640 to 768 in the new graphics card.

However, the memory interface width is reduced from 128 Bits to 96 bits and even the memory bandwidth is reduced from 112 to 84 GB/second. Rest of the Specs are same as described in the below article for both the cards.

How Will This Impact Performance

Since the Cuda Cores and the clock rates are bumped we can expect an increase in performance in Games in comparison to the old card.

Also, there is an additional 1 GB of VRAM which can also help in a slight performance increase. Reduction in the memory bandwidth and interface width can have some negative impact in higher resolution but likely the overall performance of the 3 GB VRAM GPU will easily outclass the older GTX 1050.
