Oneplus 9RT India Launch, Specs, Price, and Features
Oneplus is planning to launch a new smartphone in the coming weeks in India – the Oneplus 9RT. As per recent reports, the Oneplus 9RT was spotted on the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) certification website that hints at the imminent launch in the coming days.
We are expecting Oneplus to launch the Oneplus 9RT in October 2021.
On the Chinese microblogging site ‘Weibo’, a well-known tipster shared some details about this upcoming smartphone.
The Oneplus 9RT will be the successor to the OnePlus 9R, which failed to impress as it came with the same hardware and cameras as the one-year-old Oneplus 8T.
Key Specs for Upcoming OnePlus 9RT:
According to the tipster, the OnePlus 9RT will offer a 6.55 inch Super AMOLED punch hole notch display, FHD+(2400*1080)pixel resolution, and an amazing 120Hz refresh rate.
It will come with a corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection. We are not expecting too many changed when it comes to design and display for the 9RT.
The 9RT will come with the same processor as the Oneplus 9R – Qualcomm Snapdragon 870 octa-core processor(7nm), clocked at 3.2Ghz speed.
Additionally, it comes with an Adreno 650 GPU for handling gaming-related tasks. There is no performance bump Oneplus would want the Oneplus 9 and 9 Pro to offer better performance than 9RT, thanks to the presence of Snapdragon 888 on both those devices.
The Phone will come in two storage configurations:
- 8GB LPDDR4x RAM and 128GB internal storage.
- 8GB LPDDR4x RAM and 256GB internal storage.
The price for the Oneplus 9RT will be close to 43K in India and it will slowly replace the Oneplus 9R.
The biggest upgrade for the Oneplus 9RT will be the camera setup. As we know the Oneplus Nord 2 cameras are better than the Oneplus 9R, it makes sense for the brand to get better cameras for the Oneplus 9RT.
For imaging, the OnePlus 9RT may come with a Triple rear camera module including a 50MP Sony IMX766 primary camera, a 16MP Sony IMX481 ultra-wide lens, and a 2MP monochrome lens.
The primary 48MP camera on the Oneplus 9R is pretty average and in my testing is even worse than many phones in the sub 25K price range. The addition of the Sony IMX 766 sensor may help justify the price tag for the Oneplus 9RT and offer a better photography experience to buyers.
Additionally, the phone will come with a 16MP Sony IMX471 camera for selfies and video calls. The selfie camera is decent on the 9RT but it is more than 3 generations old and has been used by the brand on several devices.
The 9RT will also offer an in-display fingerprint scanner for quick unlocking and security. Also, there is support for Dual Sim 5G as well as 4G VOLTE.
The Oneplus 9RT will run on the latest Oxygen Os based on the Color OS and Android 11. The departure from the pure Oxygen Os is a sore point for many buyers who aspired to own a Oneplus device as it offered an excellent software experience.
Oneplus says that they will be able to better test new features with the Color OS integration but I am sure it will also add the bloat in the code and features that probably will have some impact on the appeal of Oneplus devices.
Lastly, the upcoming Oneplus 9RT will have a 4500mAH capacity battery along with 65 Watts fast charging.
