Colorful Nvidia GT 1030 (GDDR5, 2 GB)
The Nvidia GT 1030 is the most affordable graphics card that we will recommend to buy currently in this sub $100 or Rs. 10000 price range.
The Nvidia GT 1030 is a bit old and is based on the Nvidia Pascal architecture that came before the Ampere architecture used in the GTX 1050 Ti.
Another thing worth noting is that you don’t need a power connector to run this GPU, and it can easily run on even 300 watts PSU.
The Graphics card comes with the GPU Boost Technology and supports the latest DX 12 to play modern titles.
Nvidia GeForce GT 1030 Key Specs :
- Cuda Cores – 384
- GPU Base Clock – 1227 MHz
- GPU Boost Clock – 1468 MHz
- Memory Bandwidth – 48 GB/s Cooling and Heat sink Fans – Single Fan
- 64-bit, 2 GB DDR5 Memory
- OPEN GL- 4.6
- 3 Years Warranty
- Power Supply Requirement – 300 Watts
- Ports – HDMI 2.0b, SL-DVI-D.
- Weight – 381 grams
- Price – INR 7499 or $85.
The low-profile GPU can play all games at 30-60 fps with low to medium settings at 720P or lower resolution.
HDMI 2.0b and SL-DVI-D are the ports. It supports Direct X 12, Open GL 4.5, and PCI-E 3.0 (also compatible with 2.0).
The dimension it measures is 17.20*11.13*160 cm and weighs 381g.
The GT 1030 is available with 2 GB GDDR5 and with 4 GB GDDR4. On paper, the 4 GB GDDR4 version looks better but the GDDR5 version offers 15 to 20% more performance in gaming. I will strongly suggest buying the GDDR5 version. Notably, the GDDR5 version is Rs. 1000 more expensive than the GDDR4 version but is totally worth it.

Concluding Thoughts
There are hardly any new launches in the budget segment from either the green or the red team. We are stuck with minimal choices as far as graphics cards are concerned.
However, the new GTX 1650 and the GTX 1630 offer decent performance if you want to game at 720p or even at 1080p. The 1050 Ti is a bit old now, but it still serves the purpose of both gaming and content creation.
These are not the fastest cards but good addition for gaming rigs with either Intel Core i3 or the Ryzen 3200 or 3500 processors with Dual or Quad Core architecture.
With faster processors like Core i5 or Ryzen 3600 or 5600, I will strictly suggest getting something fancy like the Nvidia 1660 Ti or RTX 3060.
If you are adding a new card to your old PC rig for playing new gaming titles like Far Cry Dawn, Assassin’s Creed Valhalla or Unity, Fifa 20, GTA 5, Battlefield 1, or Call of Duty Cold War, you must check the game requirements before buying the graphics card.
Also do check the SMPS requirement before purchasing a graphics card and monitor resolution to determine how much VRAM you need in a graphics card.
