Samsung Note 8 is Official – Offers Incredible Dual 12 MP Rear Cameras
23- Aug-2017 – Samsung launched the most anticipated Samsung Note 8 at an unusual event, which was live-streamed as a 360-degree video. Moreover, the live stream looked really immersive and different compared to most mobile Launch events.
For starters, the Note 8 is large and comes with a stunning 6.3-inch Quad HD+ (2960×1440) Super AMOLED display. The full view bezel-free display has 18:5:9 aspect ratio. The overall design looks familiar and is similar to the Samsung S8 Plus that also comes with the infinite display.
The bezel-less displays are the future of mobiles, a trend started by Xiaomi Mi Mix and made popular by Samsung S8 and LG G6. It’s the voguish feature that manufacturers will capitalize in 2017-18.
The rear side is more interesting with the Dual Camera setup with LED Flash and the fingerprint scanner, all fitted in a rectangular box. It is not the most aesthetic way of packing the dual rear cameras. Contrastingly, the iPhone 7 Plus and the OnePlus 5 looks so much better from the back in comparison to the new Samsung flagship.
The Samsung Note 8 looks great and has a 12 MP Dual Rear Camera with OIS.
Powering the mobile is the Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processor (in the US) and elsewhere it runs on the Samsung Exynos 8895 processor based on the 10 Nm process and comes with 6 GB of RAM. Additionally, it has 64GB / 128 GB/ 256 GB storage and it even offers a micro-sd card slot.
The Note 8 has IP 68 rating and you don’t need to worry about the water or dust damage for the device. Even the S Pen comes with IP 68 rating.
The differentiating thing about the Note 8 is it’s dual rear camera setup. For photography, it comes with Dual 12 Megapixel cameras with Optical image stabilization.
One of the lenses is a wide-angle, with f/1.7 aperture, while the second lens is a telephoto that comes with f/2.4 aperture.
The front selfie camera comes with an 8 Megapixel lens with f/1.7 aperture. Further, the mobile runs on the latest Android Nougat OS 7.1 along with the Samsung Experience UI.
There is a 3300 mAH capacity battery with fast charging support. Samsung has not gone overboard this time to include a larger battery in the Note 8, they are extremely cautious with batteries after what happened to Note 7.
Other Top Features
Other top features include USB Type C, NFC, and Bluetooth 5.0 support. There is even 3.5 mm headphone jack to listen to music and it also comes with CAT 16 LTE bands and 4G Volte support.
Two highlight features apart from the Dual Rear camera which Samsung focused in their presentation are S-Pen and the Samsung Dex.
Samsung S Pen – The S Pen got many new exciting features. Those who love to use the S Pen will like the more precise device even more.
Some of the key features which Samsung has added to S Pen are you can type on the always-on display and fill up colors in some of the cool pre-created images to relax. Also, the touch sensitivity, as well as precision, is better on the new S-Pen.
There is support for Samsung Dex which can convert your phone into a PC. The Dex support is already there on the S8 and S8 Plus and the Note 8 carries it forward. You can connect the Samsung Dex dock to Note 8 along with an external monitor and keyboard to use the phone as a PC.
The new Samsung flagship comes with everything that you can imagine a phone. However, is it very different to the Samsung S8 plus in terms of design? Nope.
The design language is the same although, the Note 8 is large and bulkier weighs 195 grams in comparison to 173 grams of Samsung S8+.
In conclusion, the Note 8 is a dream mobile for many buyers and a perfect mix of power, camera, and gorgeous Super AMOLED display. Lastly, it will be available in midnight black, deep-sea blue, orchard grey, and maple gold.
