Xiaomi launches new Redmi K30 Series in China

Xiaomi has so far launched 4 new phones in the Redmi K30 series in China and these are yet to launch in India. Also, the company is planning to launch the K50 Pro+ soon.

Here are the 4 smartphones launched by Xiaomi in the K30 series:

  1. Xiaomi Redmi K30
  2. Redmi K30 Pro,
  3. Redmi K30 Ultra
  4. Xiaomi Redmi K30 Pro Zoom

Let’s check out the Specs, details, features, prices and other details for the latest phones by the company.

With Remi K20 Pro already being hit, we are looking forward to the Xiaomi Redmi K30 Pro series. It got recently launched on March 24th. The series comes with two launches: Xioami Redmi K30 Pro and Xiaomi Redmi K30 Pro Zoom. Notably, the phone has 5G technology and comes with the latest Snapdragon 865 chipset.

The storage variants are 6/8 GB RAM and 128/256 GB onboard storage with UFS 3.1. The display is FHD+ AMOLED Display, and the cameras offer a 64MP resolution with a 20MP pop-up selfie camera. All this and more is delivered at a base model price of Rs 32,000.

Xiaomi Redmi K30 Pro

Availability:

The K30 Pro was launched on March 24th in China, and as per the previous track, we can expect it to launch in India sometime later with the price of the entry model close to Rs 32,000.

*Prices mentioned are based on expectations and price in China. However, the launch price in India can change.

Design:

The K30 Pro has a smart glass front and curved glass panel at the back, both protected by a Gorilla Glass 5. The dimensions of the phone are 163.3 x 75.4 x 8.9 mm and weigh ~218 grams.

It is available in some gorgeous color choices – Sky Blue, Moonlight White, Starry Purple, Space Grey. The phone comes with a full view display and has no punch- holes or notches.

Further, there is a cutting edge in-display fingerprint sensor, haptic feedback, and IP53 splash resistance.

Display:

The display is 6.67 inches Super AMOLED FHD+ display with 1080×2400 screen resolution, 20:9 Aspect Ratio, and ~395 ppi. It also displays 500 nits brightness and a standard 60 Hz refresh rate and HDR 10+ certification.

Storage:

The K30 Pro comes in the following storage variants:

  • 8 GB RAM + 128 GB UFS 3.1 Onboard Storage @ Rs 36,600
  • 8 GB RAM + 256 GB UFS 3.1 Onboard Storage 2 approx Rs 40,000.

The ram is LPDDR5 except for the base variant; it is LPDDR4x. It does not sport a dedicated card slot for storage expansion.

Processor and OS:

It is one of the first models to introduce SD 865 at this price, which is a big positive aspect of the K30 Pro. The processor is Octa-Core Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 with 7nm+ fabrication, and the GPU is Adreno 650. It will launch with both 4G and 5 G technology.

For the Operating system, K30 Pro uses the latest Android 10.0 and MIUI 11 skin.

Camera:

The camera set up on the back is Quad configuration with Dual-LED dual-tone flash and HDR.

The main camera is 64MP wide lens with PDAF + 13 MP ultrawide lens + 5 MP Telephoto lens with Autofocus and 2x digital zoom + 2 MP depth sensor.

The video is gyro-EIS enabled and supports the following formats:

4320p@24/30fps, 2160p@30/60fps, 1080p@30/60/120/240fps, 1080p@960fps

Front Camera:

The selfie camera is 20 MP pop-up camera with HDR and video format of 1080p@30fps.

Battery:

Fuelling the device is a 4700 mAH Li-Po battery that comes with USB Type C Port. The phone can charge fully in just 63 minutes using the 33 W Fast Charger with Quick Charge 4+ technology.

Network and Comm:

  • Dual SIM (Nano-SIM, dual stand-by)
  • Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac/ax, dual-band
  • Bluetooth 5.1
  • A-GPS, GLONASS, BDS, GALILEO, QZSS.4
  • NFC and Infrared Port
  • USB 2.0

Redmi K 30 Pro Zoom

The zoom version displays the same design, display, processor characteristics as the K30 Pro. It also showcases the same battery specs and other features.

The only difference is the storage capacity and camera, where the Zoom replaces the 5MP telephoto with an 8MP 3x telephoto lens and also offers OIS on the main as well as a telephoto lens.

Apart from these, you will witness similar features on both phones.

So we will discuss the features where the two phones vary from each other:

Storage:

The ram is LPDDR5, and storage is UFS3.1. It also does not support an extra MicroSD Card for storage enhancement. The variant configuration is as follows:

  • 8GB RAM + 128 GB onboard storage
  • 8GB RAM + 256GB onboard storage

Camera:

The camera configuration is pretty much the same as the Pro version, but this is where the two phones vary from each other.

The main camera is 64 MP wide lens with PDAF and OIS + 8 MP telephoto lens with PDAF, OIS, and 3x optical zoom + 13 MP ultrawide lens + 2 MP depth sensor.

Front Camera:

It is the same as in Pro version: motorized pop up 20 MP Selfie Camera. The two variants are priced at Rs 41,000 and Rs 43000, respectively.

So now, with detailed specs, you can choose which phone you want to buy as and when they get available to Indian buyers.

Redmi K30 and K30 Ultra:

To mark the 10th Anniversary, Xiaomi has launched its flagship phones in China with name tag Redmi K30 and Redmi K30 Ultra.

The company has yet to confirm the international availability of the phones.

Let’s have a look at the key specs, features, and price for the new Xiaomi phones.

Both the devices come with the Full HD IPS LCD screen with a 6.67 inch screen size and offer 2400 * 1080 pixels resolution, 800 nits brightness, 120Hz refresh rate, 20:9 aspect ratio, and 395 PPI.

Protecting the display is the Corning Gorilla Glass 5.

Let’s look at each of the devices separately and see what’s new and exiting from the camp of Xiaomi.

Redmi K30

Powering the Redmi K30 is the Qualcomm Snapdragon 730G (8nm) and it runs on MIUI 11 based Android 10 and there is Adreno 618 GPU for playing games.

Further, the battery of 4500mAh capacity with 27W fast charging support makes sure that you can use it easily all day.

As far as the memory is concerned, it comes in four memory configuration i.e. 6GB RAM/64GB,128GB storage, and 8GB RAM/128GB,256GB Storage.

The phone weighs around 208g and has a dimension of 165.3* 76.6 * 8.8mm.

Let’s take a look at the camera which includes a dual selfie camera with 20MP wide-angle lens with f/2.2 aperture and a 2MP depth sensor with f/2.4 aperture.

The main camera comes with 64MP wide-angle PDAF (f/1.9 aperture), 8MP ultra-wide (f/2.2 aperture), 2MP macro (f/2.4 aperture), and 2MP depth sensor (f/2.4 aperture).

The phone is said to be available in Red, Purple, and Blue color with the price tag starting at INR 16,190.

Redmi K30 Ultra

The smartphone is available in Moonlight White, Midnight Black, and Mint Green color alternatives.

It weighs around 213g and has a thickness of 9.10 mm and comes with an in-display fingerprint sensor.

Redmi K30 Ultra is powered by an Octa-Core MediaTek Dimensity 1000+ processor.

Similar to the K30, it runs on MIUI 11 based Android 10 Operating System.

The phone comes with a massive 4500 mAh capacity with 33W fast charging support and can easily last all day without breaking a sweat.

The camera consists of a 20MP pop-up front selfie camera while the rear camera setup includes 64MP primary camera, 13MP ultra-wide lens with 119-degree FOV, 5MP macro lens, and 2MP depth sensor.

It too offers four memory/storage variants like K30 i.e. 6GB RAM/128GB storage and 8GB RAM/ 128GB, 256GB,512GB Storage.

The phone is said to be available at the starting price of roughly INR 34,999, but yet the company has not announced its global accessibility.
