Best 4G VOLTE Features Phones in India – Jio, Intex, Lava

The 4G war in India is heating up with every passing day. And it got even worse with the launch of Reliance Jio 4G VoLTE feature phone (JioPhone) because the new company is setting high standards and also eying to become India’s largest telecom operator within next two years.

Following the launch of JioPhone, another Indian brand, Intex launched its 4G VoLTE enabled feature phone dubbed Intex Turbo+ 4G, which has similar specifications as the JioPhone. On the other hand, another homegrown brand, Lava has launched a 4G enabled feature phone way back in February 2017, but it is slightly different from the other two because it runs on the Android operating system.

Also, the JioPhone and Intex Turbo+ 4G wins the race regarding pricing, because they both are priced at Rs. 1,500, whereas Lava Connect M1 is priced at Rs. 3,333, and is already available for purchase. The Reliance JioPhone, Intex Turbo+ 4G, and Lava Connect, all three offers 4G VOLTE in a compact form factor. Let’ see which one you should choose in every aspect.

Reliance 4G Volte Feature Phone – JioPhone

At the moment, the specifications of the JioPhone are unavailable because the company did not reveal them at the AGM meeting on July 21. However, rumours have been citing the specs of the device.

The JioPhone will have a 2.4-inch QVGA colour display and will come in two chipset variants- Qualcomm 205, and Spreadtrum SoC.

The JioPhone is rumoured to have 512MB of RAM and 4GB of internal storage with support for microSD card slot for storage expansion. The phone could likely sport a 2MP camera at the back and is backed by a 2000mAh battery. And yes, the smartphone runs KaiOS exclusively designed for 4G LTE feature phones.

Other special features of JioPhone include support for NFC, digital voice assistant, and app store support with preloaded apps such as JioPlay, JioMusic, JioCinema, etc.

Intex Turbo+ 4G VOLTE Feature Phone

Coming to the Inte Turbo+ 4G, it has all the specifications similar to the rumoured ones of JioPhone. The Turbo+ 4G has a 2.4-inch QVGA display with a resolution of 320 x 240 pixels and is powered by a dual-core processor, which is likely to be the Spreadtrum chipset.

The chipset works in tandem with 512MB of RAM and 4GB of internal storage with support for storage expansion up to 32GB with a microSD card. Intex already confirmed that the device would run KaiOS out-of-the-box with some preinstalled apps.

The Turbo+ 4G has a 2MP rear camera, along with a VGA front camera. The entire package is backed by a 2000mAh battery.

Lava Connect M1 4G VOLTE Feature Phone

Lastly, we have the Lava Connect M1, which is an Android powered feature phone released back in February 2017. This feature also has a 2.4-inch QVGA display with a resolution of 320 x 240 pixels. The device is internally powered by a 1.3GHz quad-core processor and has 512MB RAM, 4GB of storage.

After looking at the specifications of three phones, it is pretty much evident that all the three feature phones share a similar set of specs. Also, all the three phones support 4G LTE and VoLTE. The Jio Phone is a single SIM card phone, while the other two in the list are dual-SIM devices. However, a lot of rumors are pointing out Jio Phone will come in a dual SIM variant by the end of 2017.

Going by the features and price, the Reliance JioPhone seems to be a good option in the three 4G feature phones. It also has nifty functionalities such as voice assistant, NFC support will be enabled with a software update, etc.

The Jio Phone will be up for pre-booking from August 23, whereas the exact sale date of Intex Turbo+ 4G is unknown. This is just the beginning and we are expected many more 4G Volte Feature phones to launch in India in 2017-18.
