Acer has launched the new Acer Predator Helios 300 laptop in India. The Acer Predator Helios 300 comes in two variants, and the price starts at Rs. 1,29,999. Both the laptops are available for purchase exclusively from Flipkart and are listed on the e-commerce website.
Let’s check the specs and details of both the models.
Acer Predator Helios 300 G3-572 (Core i5)
Price Rs. 1,29,990
For starters, the Acer Predator Helios 300 comes with the Intel Core i5 7th Generation Processor – 7300 HQ. Moreover, the processor offers a 2.5 GHz base clock speed with a 3.5 GHz boost clock for improved performance in demanding tasks.
Powering the laptop is the monstrous Nvidia GTX 1050 Ti graphics card that has 4 GB of GDDR5 memory. Additionally, there is 8 GB of DDR4 ram, expandable up to 32 GB using the additional free ram slots. However, the 8 GB Ram size seems low considering the price. Acer should have at least bundled 16 GB of DDR4 Ram with Helio 300.
Further, there is 128 GB SSD and a 1 TB Hard drive to enable fast booting, address media and games storage needs.
The laptop comes with 15.6 inches Full HD Display (1920*1080) pixels, and even has Dolby Audio Premium sound with Dual speakers. Also, it runs on Windows 10 OS and has 27 mm thickness and weighs 2.7 kg.
To keep the Helios 300 cool, Acer is using a new innovative technology with Dual Fan Cooling (Metal AeroBlade 3D), to ensure faster heat dissipation during gaming sessions.
Lastly, it comes with a backlit keyboard, and also has 2 x USB 2.0, 1 x USB 3.0, 1 x USB 3.1 Type C (1st Gen) ports for connectivity.
Moving to the more expensive version of the Helios 300.
Acer Predator Helios 300 G3-572 (Core i7)
Price Rs. 1,49,999
The Acer Predator Helios 300 higher variant comes with the Intel Core i7 7700 HQ processor with a clock speed of 2.8 GHz with a Turbo Boost upto 3.8 GHz. Rest of the specs for the higher model are similar to the Intel Core i5 model.
It comes with a similar graphics card, GTX 1050 Ti, and has 128 GB SSD, 1 TB HD and 8 GB of Ram. The display is also identical and offers Full HD resolution.
The price looks too high for just the processor upgrade. The gaming performance is not going to be drastically different on both the models. Considering the price, the Core i5 model looks more enticing.
Recently, Lenovo has also launched the Legion Y520 and the Legion Y720, gaming laptops in the Indian market.
The Legion Y720 comes with the Nvidia GTX 1060 graphics card is available for Rs 1.5 lakhs, similar to the higher variant of the Acer Predator Helios 300.
