Latest Lava Z60 Makes a Debut in India
Indian smartphone manufacturer Lava has launched a new smartphone in the Indian market, called the Lava Z60. The new Lava Z60 has a price tag of Rs. 6499 and will be available for purchase both from retail stores as well as online.
The Lava Z60 comes in Gold color with a white front panel and is also available in black color.
Key Features for Lava Z60
- The smartphone runs on the latest Android Nougat 7.1 Os along with the Star OS 4.1 (custom skin from Lava).
- There is a software option to add bokeh effect to the images.
- The Z60 comes with a 5 Megapixel rear and a 5 Mega Pixel front Selfie camera.
Lava Z60 Specs and Details
The Lava Z60 looks a lot like the Xiaomi Redmi 4A and has a 5.0 Inch display. The device comes with an FWVGA (854*480) pixels resolution with 197 PPi.
The mobile offers a 5 Megapixel rear camera and a 5 Megapixel front selfie camera which comes with a Bokeh mode which is more of software feature unlike the Bokeh mode on Dual camera smartphones.
There is dedicated flash present at the rear as well as the front side. Additionally, the bokeh mode works for selfies as well.
The Lava Z60 has an unknown 1.1 GHz clocked Quad Core processor and came with 1 GB of Ram. The smartphone has 16 GB of internal storage which can be expanded using the Micro-sd card slot.
The Z60 has dual sim support and also has 4G VOLTE capability to work with the JIO or other operator sim card. Additionally, the phone comes with 2500 mAH capacity battery which is sufficient to make it work all day.
Lastly, the Z60 has 9.1 mm of thickness and weighs 149 grams. At Rs. 6499 the Lava Z60 don’t look exciting as a lot of phones in this price range offer HD display and has 2 GB of Ram.
Lava has earlier launched the Lava Z25 and Lava Z10 in the Indian market. The Lava Z25 has a price tag of Rs. 18,000 and the Z10 is available for Rs. 11,499.
Lava Z60 Major Cons, Should You Buy it?
Lava has been pricing the smartphones a little higher compared to the competition – Xolo, Xiaomi, Micromax, and Spice.
The Lava Z60 also lacks some essential specs and features which are present in the phones like the Xiaomi Redmi 4A.
Most other phones come with a 13 Megapixel rear camera or 8 MP camera in this range; the Lava Z60 only has a 5 MP camera.
Also, The Z60 comes with just 1 GB Ram which is less compared to 2 GB Ram in most phones in the 6K price range.
Overall, I think it is a mediocre offering which will do well in the retail stores, but it is difficult to become a best seller in the online market.
Lava has launched 2 new smartphones in the hyper-competitive 10K to 20K price range.
Lava Z25 and Z10 are all set to compete with the Chinese offerings in the market. They’re officially priced at Rs 18,000 and Rs 11,500 respectively.
The phones will come with a basic 1.5 years warranty for the users. The company is also promising a 30 Day Replacement Policy.
Lava Z25 Priced at Rs 18000
Coming to the phones, the more premium Z 25 sports a metal uni-body with diamond cut chamfers. Although, the back seems to be a complete rip off of the Redmi Note 3.
There’s also around fingerprint sensor below the camera sensor. Lava claims it can easily unlock under 0.16s, which is indeed is 20% faster than other flagships out there. It’ll also use their fingerprint to unlock the apps.
It flaunts a 5.5-inch FHD IPS LCD display up front. There’s a 2.5D curved glass enhancing the front look, Lava also claims that it can give up to 500 nits of brightness. It’s driven by a 64-bit 1.5 GHz Octa-core MediaTek chipset.
The processor is coupled with 4 GB of RAM and 32 GB of internal storage. It can be expended up to 128 GB through micro SD cards.
There’s a 13 MP Sony IMX 258 sensor at the back with LED flash, PDAF, f/2.0 aperture and 5-layer Largan lens. At the front there’s an 8 MP selfie shooter with spotlight flash and the same f/2.0 aperture and 5-Layer Largan lens.
Powering the Z25 is rather underwhelming 3020 mAh battery.
The Z25 ships with Android Marshmallow v6.0.1 with Star OS v3.3 skin on top.
Lava Z10 Priced at Rs 11500
The cheaper variant Z10 is a different offering altogether. It flaunts a rather smaller 5 inch HD IPS LCD display with an oleophobic coating as well.
It runs on a 64-bit 1.3 GHz octa-core MediaTek SOC with 2 GB of RAM.
There’s 16 GB of internal storage with storage expansion option as well like its sibling. Thr Z10 features 8MP rear camera with f/2.0 aperture, PDAF, 5-layer Largen lens.
While the front features 5 MP selfie shooter with f/2.2 aperture and 4-layer Largan lens.
The phone is powered by 2650 mAh battery pack. It ships with Android v6.0 Marshmallow with Star OS v3.3 skin on top.
Both the smartphones come with ‘Power Saver mode’ and ‘Super Power Saver mode’ for longer battery life out of it.
Interestingly, both the phones have focused on optics and also come with “Bokeh” and “Night Pro” modes as well.
It’ll be available from March 23rd, in Champagne Gold and Grey color variants. Whereas the Z10 is available only in Gold color option.
Lava after the launch of Lava X81 and X41, 4G VOLTE smartphones has launched the Lava X50 (4G LTE and VOLTE) in the Indian market. The company launched Lava X50 in July 2016, priced at Rs 8699.
Recently, Lava launched an upgraded variant of the same mobile (Lava X50) dubbed as ‘Lava X50 Plus’. Lava has listed X50 Plus on its official website priced at Rs 9199, yet there is no official announcement regarding availability of the smartphone. Though we can expect the smartphone to become available online as well as offline in the coming week.
LAVA X50 PLUS
The new lava mobile has metallic edges with curved design and a glossy poly-plastic back cover. The X50 Plus looks very similar when compared to the Lava X50. The highlight of the Lava X50 Plus is the 32 GB internal storage in Sub 10K price range, which can be enticing for many buyers.
The smartphone includes features like time lapse videos as well as gestures like ‘Flip to Mute’ and ‘Swipe to Capture’. The mobile comes with ‘One Hand Mode’ and it supports 12 regional languages.
Lava X50 Plus flaunts 5.5 inch IPS ON CELL Display with 1280 x 720p resolution.
Additionally, the smartphone is powered by a 1.3 GHz Quad-Core Processor with 2 GB RAM. It weighs 155 grams and it is 8.85 mm thick. It is available in Blue and White-Gold color options.
The smartphone runs Android 6.0 Marshmallow. The mobile has 32 GB internal memory and it can be expanded up to 32 GB via micro-SD Card. It has an 8 MP Rear Camera with LED Flash which includes features like Face Beauty Mode, Panorama Mode and it can also capture slow motion videos.
The Rear Camera can also record 1080p (FULL HD) videos. On the other hand, for selfies, it has 5 MP Lens with Front LED Flash. Front LED helps in capturing low light selfies.
Additionally, X50 Plus has 4G support for faster connectivity. It also has VoLTE for HD calls, can be used with the JIO, Airtel, Idea and Vodafone network.
Other connectivity options include WiFi, Bluetooth v4.0, GPS, etc. The smartphone has Sensors like Proximity sensor, Accelerometer, and Ambient light sensor. Also, it has a 3.5 mm headphone jack. The smartphone comes with 2800 mAh nonremovable battery.
Not Much has changed if we compare the Lava X50 Vs. Lava X50 Plus but the changes are more in line to what users are expecting from a smartphone in this range.

Lava A77 Key Specs and Details
Lava has launched a new budget 4G VOLTE smartphone called the Lava A77. The Lava A77 comes with an MRP of Rs 6099 but is retailing at a lower price of Rs 4999, which actually is apt for the specs it offers.
The Lava A77 comes with a poly-plastic build and is available in Blue, Gold and grey colors.
The smartphone has a small 4.5 Inch display which comes with 800*480 pixels resolution.
The Dual Sim smartphone is powered by a 1.3 GHz (unspecified Quad Core processor). There is 1 GB of Ram and 8 GB of internal storage which is further expandable up to 32 GB using a micro-sd card slot.
Additionally, the Lava A77 runs on the dated Android Marshmallow 6.0, while competition Intex recently launched a couple of cheap Android Nougat 7.0 smartphones in India.
The Lava A77 comes with a 5 Megapixel front selfie camera, with a dedicated flash to delight the selfie lovers.
The smartphone also has a rear camera with 5 Megapixel resolution and a LED Flash as well.
The A77 has support for 4G LTE as well as VOLTE and will work with your JIO sim for Data as well as voice calls.
There is also support for native 3G/2G / WIFI and Bluetooth connectivity. The device comes with a 2000 mAH battery capacity which is sufficient considering the screen size and specs.
Lava has announced its new smartphone, the Lava P7 with a guaranteed Android marshmallow update. The Lava P7 is the company’s new low budget smartphone with a very affordable price tag of Rs. 4999. The smartphone will be available online as well as from the physical stores.
If you are looking for a low priced mobile which will run on Android Marshmallow, the Lava P7 is made for you.
Lava P7 Technical Specs and Features
The Lava P7 comes with mediocre hardware specs befitting it’s price, and if there is one thing worth considering in this smartphone is the Android Marshmallow update.
While all its rivals and the Chinese entrants have not been banking on giving the latest OS from Google, Lava’s promise is noteworthy. Back when we had the Android Lollipop update rolling out on the Google Android One devices, Xolo (a brand of Lava) launched the Xolo One mobile which also promised an Android Lollipop update.
Did Xolo fulfill the promise? You bet they did, so you will also get the Marshmallow update with the Lava P7, but no date has been confirmed. It can take a couple of weeks to months.
Now coming to the devices’ specifications, let’s see what Lava has packed inside the P7.
The display is an FWVGA ( 854 *480 ) stretched over a 5-inch screen. The Display is not for those who want a sharp screen; lava should have given at least given an HD screen for this smartphone.
But the good news is that it’s protected with a Corning Gorilla Glass 3 which is barely seen on smartphones at this price range.
The smartphone is powered by the Quad-core MediaTek processor clocked at 1.2 GHz; the chipset remains unknown.
A 1 GB RAM is given for this smartphone, which can effortlessly handle few media and browser tasks in the background. The configuration is still capable of running medium graphics games like Riptide GP2, Raging Thunder 2 or even Death trigger, as seen in the similar specs mobiles. Don’t expect it run the Asphalt 8 or the Nova 3 as we have seen these to lag even in the mid-range mobiles.
The ROM is 8 GB and the user accessible space will be around 4.5 GB. Currently, the smartphone will run on Android Lollipop 5.1 out of the box, and the Android Marshamallow update will be available via OTA.
The device is fitted with a 5 MP rear camera with L.E.D flash. There is a front facing 2 MP camera at the front and comes with a flash too. The camera comes with a special mode known as the Child mode which makes sounds like bells and whistles to attract the attention of kids so their images can be clicked with ease. Other camera features like Live Photo, Voice capture and beautify are there if you wish to play with these.
For connectivity, it includes 3G, wifi and also given a GPS module to support navigation. However, the smartphone lacks the 4G LTE support.
The battery is removable with 2000 mAh capacity, enough to fuel the phone for a day.
The smartphone is good to be used as a device for basic tasks and Apps, probably not so much for gaming.
But if you need a feature-rich device with some more hardware muscle there are other options like Micromax Canvas Xpress 2 or Coolpad dazen 1. Even the company’s sub-brand Xolo recently launched the Xolo one HD for Rs 800 lesser which is also a great choice
The smartphone still has good specs, but you have to be fast enough to grab it in the flash sales.
Key Specs of Lava P7
- Screen: 5-inch WVGA (854*480 pixels)
- Processor: 1.2 GHz Quad-core MediaTek
- RAM: 1 GB
- Camera: 5 MP,2 MP with L.E.D flash for both.
- Storage: 8 GB with micro SD
- Connectivity : 3G, wifi, GPS
- 4 G LTE: NO
- Battery: 2000 mAh
Overall we think the smartphone is priced decently, a sub 5K price makes it better value for money, still, it is one of the cheapest Android Marshmallow 6.0 smartphones out there if you want to have the greatest and latest from Google.
Lava X80 Powered By Intel Baytrail Processor launched
Lava has released its new tablet in the market at a very affordable price tag of Rs. 9,999.
The Lava X80 tablet is pitched as the next-gen experience device from Lava and comes with an Intel Baytrail Quad Core Processor.
Lava already had a tablet in their portfolio know as the Lava Ivory M4 which also has an 8-inch display.
Also, Samsung has launched a new 7-inch tablet last week known as the Samsung J Max for Rs. 13,499 in the Indian market.
The X80 tablet flaunts an 8 inch with (1280×800) pixels IPS with OGS display. Under the hood, it runs on a 1.3 GHz Quad-core Intel Atom ‘Baytrail’ processor which has a boost clock speed of up to 1.83 GHz.
Additionally, it comes along with 1 GB of RAM.
The tablet sports 16 Gb of internal storage with further expandability up to 32 GB with the help of micro SD cards.
Lava X80 sports a 5 MP rear camera with auto-focus and video recording capability.
The front shooter is 3.2 Mp camera for decent selfies worth sharing on social media platforms.
Furthermore, it measures in at 215.5x125x9mm and weighs at 320 grams.
Lava X80 also ensures connectivity options such as Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS and USB 2.0.
Sadly, the tablet supports only 3G voice calling and lacks 4G LTE support.
Fueling the tablet is a rather small 4200 mAh battery while some of the 5.5-inch smartphones have this much battery capacity.
Now coming to the software department, it’s egregious to see Lava using the old and dated Android KitKat 4.4.4 for what they call “Next Gen experience” tablet.
Also, the company has not shared if the tablet will get a software update to Android Marshmallow or Android Lollipop any sooner.
The Android Marshmallow is now on 13.3% of Android devices globally which is also a meager number considering it is almost nine months since Google released the new OS.
The new X80 is available in Indian retail stores at Rs, 9,999 along with the standard color options; Black and White.
Also, the brand offers a standard 1-year warranty with the device and six months warranty for the accessories in the box.
Surprisingly, the launch of the “Lava X80 tablet” has compelled itself to compete against the New entrant in the market, “Samsung J Max tablet” which has slightly better specs and price tag.
Also, it competes with the Ivory M4 tablet from Lava that has better RAM and latest software version with slightly less price tag.
Budget Tablet from Lava Launches With 3G Support
Lava recently launched 2 new budget smartphones Lava A97 and the Lava X28. Now Lava is looking forward to expanding the portfolio for budget tablets with the new ultra-affordable Lava Ivory Pop Tablet.
This tablet is priced at Rs. 6,299 and will be available soon offline as well as offline. It promises to offer ‘ Next Generation Experience’ to users without breaking the bank.
Key Specs and Top Features
The all-new tablet comes with a well built metallic body. Ivory Pop sports a 7.0-inch display with a low resolution of 1080×600 pixels. It comes with Dual Twisted Nematic Technology that allows better and clear contrast view at different angles with decent colors. The Ivory Pop runs on Android version 5.1 Lollipop.
Under the hood is the 1.3 GHz Intel Sofia 3G-R chipset. It is a Quad-core processor and comes along with the ARM Mali 450 GPU. Additionally, there is 1 GB DDR3 RAM. This tablet comes with a 16 GB of internal storage expandable up to 32 GB with the help of micro SD card.
The Ivory POP has a 5 MP rear shooter with autofocus and a led flash. The front has a 2 MP shooter for video calls and taking selfies.
This tablet is powered by a non-removable 3000 mAH battery which is mediocre considering the previous tablets from Lava the X80 had a 4000 mAH battery.
Coming to network & connectivity, this tablet ruled out the most needed 4G connectivity which might also be considered a major miss where, most of the mobile phones, phablets at this price range offer 4G. However, the tablet comes with support for 3G and 2G.
The other options like Wi-Fi /a/b/g/n both 2.4 GHz & 5 GHz, Bluetooth, GPS, tethering are available with no USB support. There is a gravity sensor in this tablet, and almost all kinds of audio, video formats are playable.
The Lava ivory Pop comes with 8.8 mm thickness and is quite portable. The tablet has a 3.5 mm jack for audio and also has support for 21 Indian languages which can be useful to enjoy content in a local dialect.
This tablet comes only in single Dark Grey color and is available in all multi-brand and exclusive showrooms and also in e-markets.
What Lava Says about the new tablet:
“The addition of Lava Ivory POP in the lineup strengthens our resolve to make valuable technology accessible. With an exceptional Intel chipset, exceptional multi-media feature and economical price point, we are confident that this tablet will turn into a favorite of buyers.”, added Raman Sharma, Head- Tablet and IT products, Lava International.
For the first time tablet users, Android users who use the tablet moderately instead of stacking up the primary can consider buying this tablet if most of the time you use it at your home because of low battery size.
Lava Pixel V2 Vs Lava Pixel V1 (Android One)
Lava has launched a new smartphone Lava Pixel V2 successor of Lava Pixel V1. The move may be strange bizarre as Lava has partnered Google and launched the Lava Pixel V1 in July 2015 with almost similar specs.
If Lava is planning to sell similar specs, similar price smartphone then the whole Google Android One mission which already is in poor shape, even tumbles down more.
The Google Android One initiative is all about providing connectivity and smartphone android experience to masses. With Google partners like LAVA mobile going there own way with new product launches which are very similar to Android One smartphone and at a cheaper rate makes it a bit strange.
Powering the Pixel V2 is the 64-Bit MediaTek MTK6735 Quad-core processor along with a 2 GB RAM and 16 GB internal storage space (lesser than Lava Pixel V1 which has 32 GB of internal storage).
The screen size is reduced by 0.5 inches than its predecessor and measures 5.0 inches protected with Dragon Trail glass.
The Pixel V2 comes with a 13 MP primary camera better than its predecessor’s 8 MP sensor gimmicked as 13 MP.
The smartphone comes with the beautify software to enhance your selfies.
The front camera is 8 Megapixels and comes with LED flash which is also an upgrade compared to the Lava pixel V1.
The Lava Pixel V2 is not an Android one smartphone like the Pixel V1; the Lava Pixel V2 has nothing to do with the Google Android One initiative.
The lava Pixel V2 runs on the latest Android Lollipop (5.1) OS, not as bloat free and pure as we saw on the Lava Pixel V1. It comes with Lava’s own skin Star OS 2.0 which adds features and Apps from Lava.
The lava pixel V2 has many improvements when compared to the pixel V1 like a better processor, 4G connectivity, and a good camera, the price of the phone is also lower than the Lava pixel V1.
The new phone will be available online as well as physical stores and carries a price tag of Rs 10750.

Verdict – Lava Pixel V2 Vs. Lava Pixel V1
Barring the battery capacity and storage the Lava Pixel V2 scores in most areas more than the Google Android One Lava Pixel V1. It has the better camera, better processor, and a slightly cheaper price tag.
If you are looking for the stock Android experience and faster updates then can opt for the Lava Pixel V1 else you can buy the Lava pixel v2.
The latest Android One smartphone which was earlier expected to go on sale on 14 July 2015, is now launched on Flipkart for Rs. 11,349.
Lava Pixel V1 Images Specs Price Revealed (Android One Mobile)
There was a listing of the new smartphone on one of the e-commerce portals(my smart price) briefly, and we positively expect it to get launched on 29 July 2015, as is also confirmed by many other sources.
This is the second generation of Android One smartphone, the first generation of smartphones were made in collaboration with Micromax, Spice, and Karbonn. They were launched on 16 September 2014 in the Indian market.
This smartphone Lava Pixel V1 is developed by Lava international along with the collaboration with Google to expand the footprint of Android smartphones in India and other developing countries.
The first generation of Android One devices was cheaper and are available for $100. Google envisioned them for the masses, but the new Lava Pixel V1 is expected to be priced at Rs. 11,349.
As was earlier reported “Caesar Sengupta- V.P, Google says that quality & not quantity would be the endeavor. According to his words to the Economic Times, they want to play the role of a catalyst in the overall Android ecosystem, in a manner that proves beneficial to the users.
This time Google is not eying the mass market, but targeting the mid-range segment where Micromax, Xiaomi, and Motorola are battling to get the consumer share.
The Lava Pixel V1 has a thin design, and the bezels on the sides look minimal. There are no physical buttons at the bottom of the screen.
The Lava Pixel V1 is powered by the Quadcore processor clocked at 1.3 GHz, and Mali 400 Mp2 GPU. And will come with 2 GB of Ram which will ensure smooth performance. The processor is not mentioned in specs but likely a MediaTek 6732 or the older Mediatek 6582 M. Earlier it was believed to have a Snapdragon 410, yet it is not clear which processor is used. Maybe will get clarity from lava very soon. Even the LAVA official website is not revealing any details about the processor.
The smartphone will have 32 GB internal memory which is expandable using the micro-sd card up to 32 GB more.
The Lava Pixel V1 will be running on the stock android Lollipop 5.1 and will most likely get two future updates from Google.
The next update for the smartphone is going to be Android M, Google ensures that the Android One smartphones get faster Android updates like the Nexus series of devices.
The Lava Pixel V1 has a 13 MP rear camera(actually it is an 8 MP camera which LAVA says is enhanced using software to 13 MP) with BSI sensor, Autofocus, Single LED lens, and optimization to take low light images with better clarity.
The camera aperture is f/2.0 giving it a better shot at artificial light imaging.
Further, it comes with a 5 MP front camera which comes with a 4P lens and can be interpolated as an 8 MP camera.
Not very sure about the marketing gimmick of showing 8 MP and 5 MP camera as 13 MP and 8 MP cameras. We will wait to pass on the verdict on the actual picture quality of the camera.
Screen Size and Display
The Lava Pixel V1 has a 5.5-inch screen with HD (1280*720) P resolution. The pixel density is 267 PPI which is okay, considering some of the competition smartphones like Yureka Plus and K3 Note boasts of Full HD Display in this price range.
Protecting the display is the Asahi Dragon trail glass to make it more scratch resistant.
The smartphone has processor lacks support for the 4G LTE connectivity though it does have 3G HSPA and 2G support along with the native WIFI and Bluetooth connectivity options.
The Battery capacity is also quite good with 2650 mAH battery which is more than sufficient to last all day with moderate to heavy usage.
