iQOO 7 and iQoo 7 Legend India Launch Specs, Price, and Features
The iQOO 7 will launch in India on 26 April 2021 and it was launched in China back in Jan 2021. The phone is already listed on Amazon.in and soon will be available for purchase.
Based on the teasers the phone can launch for less than 40k in India.
Let’s check out the key specs and features for the smartphone.
Display, Performance, Variants, Price
For a smooth touch experience, the mobile comes with a 120Hz refresh rate along with a 6.62 inch AMOLED punch-hole display with FHD+(2400*1080)pixels resolution.
Additionally, it has an 86.6% screen-to-body ratio and 394ppi pixel density.
Powering the iQOO 7 is the flagship processor by Qualcomm – Snapdragon 888 Octa-core processor manufactured on a 5nm chipset that comes with an Adreno 660 GPU. The SD 888 is the latest and top-of-the-line processor and offers the best gaming and general performance.
Also, there are reports that iQOO can launch the iQOO 7 with SD 870 in India and the iQOO 7 Legend variant may get the SD 888 processor. I have shared more details about the legend variant later in the article.
The iQOO 7 runs on the OriginOS based on the Android 11 operating system.
It is available in 2 variant in China & we are expecting the brand will launch it in similar variants in India:
- 8GB RAM and 128GB UFS 3.1 storage support – Expected Price Rs. 39,999
- 12GB RAM and 256GB UFS 3.1 storage support – Expected Price Rs. 44,999.
Cameras and Other Features
The iQOO 7 comes with impressive cameras and has got a Triple rear camera setup including a 48MP(f/1.8) primary camera, a 13MP(f/2.2) ultrawide lens, and a 13MP(f/2.5) telephoto lens and it also support 4K video recording.
For selfies, it has a 16MP front-facing camera.
Furthermore, The device has an under-display fingerprint sensor and face unlocking support for security and unlocking too.
Connectivity – Bluetooth 5.2, WiFi, NFC, USB Type-C port, and also has a 5G network connectivity.
Battery Capacity and Charging
Lastly, the iQOO 7 smartphones are fueled with a 4000mAH battery and also have a 120 Watts ultrafast charging support. It takes only 15 minutes to fully charge your phone.
There is also some news that the charging speed on the Indian variants will be limited to 66 Watts which is a bummer considering the Chinese are getting a much better deal.
Lastly, the iQOO 7 has an 8.7 mm thickness and weighs 209 grams. Considering it has a lower battery capacity it is odd that it weighs so much and has a much higher thickness.
Several phones from Vivo are much slimmer less than 8 mm and lighter even have a higher battery capacity.
iQoo 7 Legend
The company is also planning to launch a more premium variant along with the iQOO 7 that will be called “iQOO 7 legend”.
The rear panel on the iQOO 7 legend has leather, and you can see BMW’s colorful stripes running across the length.
The internal specs are nearly the same on both phones.
Let’s Summarize the Pros and Cons of Vivo iQOO 7.
- Excellent Processor
- Latest OS and Fast Charging
- Good Display and Decent Cameras
- Higher Weight and Thickness
- No Wireless Charging
- No IP Rating
Specs-wise it is a great phone and I like everything about it. However, I would have liked it to be lighter and less thick considering there is not much battery capacity. Also, it is a 5G phone so it is kind of future-proof too.

Let’s have a look at what the new iQOO 3 offers to Indian phone buyers.
iQOO 3 Smartphone Specs
The key highlight of the iQOO3 is the presence of a flagship Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 processor and the Adreno 650 GPU that makes it the fastest phone on the market.
The only other phone currently available with SD 865 is the Realme X50 Pro 5G that was launched yesterday in India.
Also, it will have 5G support as the Qualcomm SD 865 comes with a 5G modem.
Furthermore, it comes with liquid cooling and will be ideal for gamers and pro-users looking for unmatched performance.
To improve the performance better the iQOO 3 comes with up to 12 GB LPDDR5 Ram and there is blazing fast 256 GB UFS 3.1 storage.
The mobile runs on the Android 10 Os along with the customer skin from iQOO that offers a smooth experience.
It has a glass back cover and metallic frame to make it robust. The phone has a 6.44-inch FHD+ (1080 x 2400 pixels), HDR 10+ Super AMOLED display
There is a punch-hole front camera cutout on one side and it promises a 91.40 percent screen-to-body ratio and there is Schott Xensation UP protective layer on the panel.
The phone comes with a 60Hz panel but has a touch sampling rate of 180 Hz that makes the display more fluid than the standard displays on other phones.
Notably, it has a maximum brightness of 800 Nits and a very good outdoor legibility.
The iQoo 3 comes with Quad-rear cameras and the primary sensor is a 48 MP Sony IMX 582 (f/1.79 aperture) shooter.
The second camera has 13 Megapixel telephoto lens with f/2.46 aperture and 20X digital zoom capability. Further, we have a 13 Megapixel ultra-wide lens and a 2 MP depth sensor.
The camera can record 4K 60 FPS videos and have electronic Image stabilization support.
Overall, the cameras on the iQOO 3 look impressive and even the front side has a 16 MP selfie camera that can capture 4K videos apart from shooting detailed images.
Other Features and Specs
The phone has a large 4400 mAH capacity battery that comes with a 55 Watts charger. It is capable to charge the phone 50% in just 15 minutes. Impressive!
Another key highlight of the iQOO 3 is the presence of a 3.5 mm headphone jack and a dedicated AMP to make it ideal for people looking for a high-quality audio phone.
Furthermore, we have got 4G/5G support, Bluetooth 5.1, USB Type-C 2.0, and an in-display fingerprint scanner.

iQOO is a new sub-brand from Vivo and will focus on the online sale of mobiles.
The iQOO 3 is an impressive phone and comes with top-of-the-line performance and features. I like the presence of an audio jack and a dedicated AMP on this device for high fidelity music experience.
The price is also reasonable and overall it is a great deal for the money. You will not have to worry much about the after-sales service as the company is backed by Vivo, which has an extensive service network.
Realme X50 PRO 5G Vs iQOO 3 Specs Comparison
Should You Buy the 5G or 4G variant?
Considering the pathetic state of telecom companies in India (debt-ridden due to the AGR verdict), the 5G network deployment is delayed. We can expect some metros to have 5G service in the next 2 years and it may take slightly longer for the non-metros and rural areas to have the facility.
Let me just take a minute to share with you how BBK electronics is capturing nearly 50% of the Indian mobile market.
BBK Electronics Saga
Oppo, Vivo, Oneplus, Realme and now the new iQOO brand of phones. The company plans to hit over 45% market share with all the 5 brands in the coming months.
In fact, every second phone Indians are buying is coming from BBK Electronics.
Moreover, the new iQOO will rival its own brand Oneplus in pricing and features but can also eat some share from Samsung and Apple in the premium market.
iQOO is also going to be an online-only brand initially and will have a tie-up with Amazon or Flipkart to sell the devices.
More competition and choices is always better for customers and we are excited to test the new iQOO mobile.
