Xiaomi has unveiled the new Mi 11 in mainland China on 28th December 2020. It is the first flagship smartphone from the Chinese tech giant that will go on sale in 2021.
Xiaomi has not yet confirmed that if the Mi 11 will launch in India or not, we will probably know this in February of March.
The Mi 11 is one of the most exciting mobiles that will be available next year, and it comes with significant improvements over the Mi 10 or Mi 10T.
Key Highlights – Mi 11
- Flagship Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 Processor
- 6.81 Inch Quad-HD+ AMOLED Display, 120 Hz
- 108 MP Rear Camera
- 4500mAH Battery, 55 Watts Charging Speed.
These are just some of the highlights for the Mi 11, and the devil is in the details that showcase how good this new Xiaomi mobile is.
Powering the device is the new Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 Octa-Core processor that offers up to a 35% boost in CPU performance over the SD 865.
The SD 888 is manufactured using the 5 nm chip, similar to the Apple A14 used in the iPhone 12 Pro. The processor is also 20% more energy-efficient and will offer superb battery life. Powering it is a new GPU – Adreno 660 that also offers up to 35% higher graphics performance.
Nevertheless, the SD 888 is considerably better than the last-gen processors and offers strong performance in terms of single-core or multi-core tasks.
We have also got a new AI engine – Hexagon™ 780 processor that offers an uplift of about 73% over the last gen-processor when it comes to AI-related tasks. This also helps with computational photography as well as making high-resolution videos and stabilization.
Also, the Mi 11 features the latest LPDDR5 Ram with a 3200 Mhz clock speed. You will be able to get either 8 GB or 12 GB ram on this new Xiaomi device.
Xiaomi is not making any compromise to performance as the phone comes with UFS 3.1 storage that is crazy fast in-comparison to the older storage types. The phone is available in 128 GB and 256 GB storage variants.
Display and Design
The Mi 11 comes with a curved display and a tiny punch-hole selfie camera at the front.
The Mi 11 comes with a 6.81 inches AMOLED WQHD+ curved DotDisplay panel that offers an incredible 3200×1440 resolution.
Also, it has got 1500 nits of max brightness that’s brighter than most phones.
Additionally, the panel has a 120 Hz refresh rate and a 480 Hz touch sampling rate.
Another big upgrade is the presence of Corning Gorilla Glass Victus that offers better scratch and drop resistance.
Notably, Apple uses the same glass in the iPhone 12 series.
Lastly, the display has a 20:9 aspect ratio, DCI-P3 color gamut, and HDR10+ support.
The Xiaomi Mi 11 comes with a massive 108 Megapixel rear camera that we have also seen on the last year’s Mi 10T.
It is a Samsung ISOCELL HM1 sensor that we have seen before. The camera comes with OIS support and has a wide f/1.85 aperture and 1.6-micron size.
The second camera is a 13 Megapixel ultra-wide lens with f/2.4 aperture, and there is a third macro lens with a 5 Mega-pixel camera to click close-up shots.
At the front, we have a 20 Megapixel selfie camera (f/2.4 aperture) that can click detailed images.
Battery Capacity and other Features
The Mi 11 comes with a massive 4500 mAH capacity battery and 55 watts wired and 50 watts wireless charging support.
The 50 Watts Wireless Charging support is astonishingly fast and is rare to find. The phone can charge from 0 to 100% in less than 45 minutes.
Furthermore, the phone has Dual speakers, and they are tuned by Harman Kardon, offering – Hi-Res Audio Certification.
There is 4G as well as 5G support to ensure crazy fast data speeds. Also, we have got support for WIFI 6 as well as Bluetooth 5.2.
Lastly, the mobile runs on the Xiaomi MiUI 12 on top of Android 10.
One of the flaws of the Mi 11 is that it doesn’t come with a 3.5mm headphone jack and also Xiaomi is not giving any chargers along with the phone.
Walking the steps of Apple the company has decided to forgo the charger and users will be forced to shell out more for getting the fast charger.
