(Updated Jan’19) – There are a lot of new smartphones which continue to get launched in the Indian market daily. At the same time, there are many existing smartphones which get a price cut or price drop to stay competitive, or at times it is done to boost sales by the companies.
In this article, we will continue to add and update smartphones which have recently received a price cut or discount. We will try to cover most of the smartphones from Flipkart and Amazon which are now available at a discounted price compared to the launch price.
It is not necessarily the price drop means that the device is outdated, there can be many reasons including another rival launching something lucrative, or an ongoing sales promotion offer that Amazon and Flipkart continue to do around the year.

Vivo has cut the price for the popping camera phone – Vivo Nex in India from Rs. 44,990 to Rs. 35,220. The Rs. 10000 price cut for the Vivo Nex is permanent and will be across offline and online channels.
The Vivo Nex is available in the single 128 GB storage and 8 GB Ram version. The new price is already reflecting on the Amazon India website and you can buy it if you are planning to purchase.
The phone comes with 12MP+5MP dual rear cameras and there is a hidden 8 MP selfie camera(motorized). Powering the device is the Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 with Adreno 630 GPU.

Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Pro
Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Pro Price Cut.

Xiaomi has launched the Redmi Note 6 Pro in India couple of weeks back and now the company has announced the price cut for the previous model.
The Redmi Note 5 Pro was available for Rs. 13,999 earlier but now you can buy it for Rs. 12,999. To recall, the Note 5 Pro was launched for Rs. 14,999 in India.
Also, the 6 GB ram version of the Note 5 Pro is now available for Rs. 13,999 instead of Rs. 15,999.
I would suggest to go for the Redmi Note 6 Pro for a slightly better design, display, and camera capabilities.

Moto G5s Plus
Motorola Moto G5s Plus was launched in India in August 2017. At the time of its launch, it was exclusively available on Amazon.

Samsung Galaxy Note 8
Galaxy Note 8 was launched in India in August 2017. It is a very high selling smartphone, and it comes with an S-Pen.
At the time of its launch, it was the most expensive Samsung phone at that time. After a number of months, it got a price cut.

Nokia 8 has received a massive, much-needed price cut of Rs. 8,000. The smartphone was retailing for Rs. 36,999 and now is available for Rs. 28,999.
The previous price was high in comparison to the rival offering like OnePlus 5T, Huawei Honor View 10 and the Xiaomi Mi Mix 2.
Notably, the Nokia 8 is one of the first phones to run on the Android Oreo 8.0 OS, other than the Pixel phones.
Powering the phone is the flagship Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processor and 4 GB Ram. The storage space is 64 GB, expandable up to 256 GB.
Besides, it comes with Dual 13 MP rear cameras with Zeiss Optics and even has a 13 MP selfie camera.

Even the battery capacity is decent (3090 mAH). Even after the price drop, it faces a fierce battle against the OnePlus 5T and Honor View 10, both come with the voguish 18:9 display.
Nokia 5 (3 GB RAM)
Even the Nokia 5 is available cheaper now as the phone is available for Rs. 11,799. At launch the phone was available for Rs 13,499, so, it has got a price drop of Rs. 1700.
You can buy both the mobiles from Amazon or any retailer. The Nokia 5 comes with a standard 5.2 Inch HD display and runs on the Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 processor. Additionally, it has 3 GB Ram and only 16 GB of internal storage space.
Moreover, the rear camera comes with 13 MP lens, and front selfie camera has 8 MP resolution.
Even after the price drop, it seems to be expensive in comparison to better offering like Redmi Note 4, Honor 9 Lite, 10. OR G or the Honor 7X in this price range.
Xiaomi Redmi Note 4
Xiaomi has already curtailed the price for the Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 (read review) from Rs. 12,999 to Rs. 11,999. Furthermore, the Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 will be available for Rs. 10,999 in the upcoming sale on Flipkart.

Notably, the Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 comes with a 5.5 Inch Full HD Display and has a large 4100 mAH capacity battery. The performance is smooth due to the Snapdragon 625 processor and 4 GB RAM.

Vivo has cut down the price for it’s latest top-selling selfie phone, Vivo V7 from Rs. 18,990 to Rs. 16,990. The Vivo V7 comes with a 24 Megapixel front selfie camera and a 16 MP rear camera with a plethora of beautifying features.

Next, we have the Oppo F3, another selfie phone that has recently seen a price drop. The Oppo F3 was earlier available for Rs. 19,990 and now is available for Rs. 18,990 on Flipkart.

Xiaomi Mi A1
Xiaomi has cut down the price for it’s latest Dual camera smartphone Xiaomi Mi A1 in India by Rs. 1000 on 10th December 2017. The phone was earlier priced at Rs. 14999 and now is available for Rs. 13,999. You can buy the Xiaomi MI A1 from Flipkart or the Mi.com.

I did a review for the Xiaomi Mi A1 couple of weeks back and had used the phone for almost four weeks. There are a lot of positives in the Mi A1 like the 12 MP Dual rear cameras that can take incredible portrait shots.
The crucial second highlight of the phone is the presence of stock Android Nougat 7.1. If you are not a big fan of MIUI (Xiaomi’s custom UI) than you will love the Mi A1 more. Also, it comes with a fast processor (Snapdragon 625) clocked at 2.0 GHz, 4 GB Ram and 64 GB internal storage.
The Battery life is also decent but not as good as the Xiaomi Redmi Note 4. The Mi A1 comes with a 3000 mAH capacity Battery compared to a 4000 mAH on the Xiaomi Redmi Note 4.
MI A1 also boasts of a USB Type C port which is rare in this price range. It is a fully loaded phone with great camera and user experience. It was a great deal even for Rs. 14,999 and now the price cut makes it a little more alluring.
Moto G5 Plus
Moto G5 plus was launched on Flipkart exclusive at a price of Rs, 16,999. The key highlight of the device is its Camera and a stock Android experience. Initially, the price of the mobile phone was reduced from 16,999 to 15,999, and now the price is reduced to 14,999.
Recently, the company has launched Moto G5s and Moto G5s Plus; this could be the reason behind the reduction in price. Notably, in the Flipkart upcoming sale, you can buy the Moto G5 Plus for just Rs. 9,999, that’s an insane discount.

Asus Zenfone 3
Asus launched the Asus Zenfone 3 smartphone on 17-August-2017 in India. Initially, it was priced at Rs. 21,999. But, recently, the Asus Zenfone 3 has got a massive price cut and is available for Rs. 14,999.
Asus Zenfone 3 feature a 5.2 inches display having FHD resolution with 401 PPI. Besides, it looks sleek, has a 7.7mm thickness and weighs 155 grams. In fact, it is a very classy looking phone with a glass back cover similar to the Samsung S8.

Apple iPhone 6 (32 GB)
For starters, Apple iPhone 6 is still selling well despite dated hardware. It comes with a 4.7-inch Retina HD display. Moreover, if you wish to buy the 32 GB version, can grab that for just Rs. 9,700 from Amazon. The Z2 Plus was an exciting phone when it was launched as it comes with the top of line Snapdragon 800 series processor – SD 820.
Also, there is 4 GB Ram, and it comes with a decent pair of cameras at the back and front. Furthermore, the 5.0 Inch display makes it portable for those who don’t like huge displays. But it is bulky on account of a massive 3500 mAH battery fitted inside a smaller body.
